ESPN is reporting that the Atlanta Braves have agreed to a three-year, $27 million deal with starting pitcher Tim Hudson. The deal is contingent on Hudson passing an MRI on his elbow.

The team has had this deal in place with Hudson for a while now, but they had to wait until after the World Series to announce it. His elbow should be fine for now, but his injury history has to be a concern, especially since he got a three-year deal.

You are correct. It does not show everything.

The "possibility of injury" is a huge concern... as it seems to be a pattern.

I don't think the injury concern is that big of a deal for Hudson. Until this injury, he hadn't thrown less than 188 innings since his rookie year. If anything, the injury was a good thing for the Braves b/c it allowed them to sign Hudson to a below-market contract.

If the Braves can manage to deal Lowe and hang onto Vazquez, their rotation will be scary next year.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Tim Hudson's three-year extension is officially a done deal.

Hudson's three-year deal that is reportedly worth $9 million per season kicked in when he passed the physical hinged on an MRI of his surgically repaired elbow. There is an option for a fourth year, and the Braves are expected to hold a press conference announcing the deal later today.
