New ideas for Braves adding starters Verlander and/or Fulmer. Dansby could be gone for Fulmer. Many senarios involved in these ideas.

Apparently interest has picked up on JJ. Might be able to get some more highly valued guy (s) for him. Maybe package him off with someone?

I don't expect a lot unless something really falls in our favor the next 48 hrs or so. And most anyone we are going to be looking at trading for or getting rid of will all have better markets in the off season.

Rumors are that Garcia is back on market. Get him back and then make better hay later in season or during off season. Obvious the money saved by trading him won't/can't be used for Gray.

Yuks trade for Garcia. Coppy bites the bullet trying to get the trade done to the Twins. Way to quick. The Dodgers were in mix as well. Twins make out well getting back far more than they gave up to the Braves.

The Yankees and Twins have agreed to a trade that will send left-hander Jaime Garcia from Minnesota to New York in exchange for Double-A right-hander Zack Littell and Triple-A lefty Dietrich Enns, the Yankees announced on Sunday.

With all of the pitching needs, and aged veteran contracts, the Braves did NOTHING during non-wavier deadline trading.

Only action was trading Garcia to Twins who then flipped him to Yuks and made hay on the deals. Braves acted way to soon and fast riding themselves of Garcia and his contract.

Braves stood pat during non waiver trade deadline season, but perhaps the waiver wire will provide some action.

From MLBTR --- How/why would Johnson generate more interest now than during the non-waiver deadline? He's been reduced to 7th/8th inning setup and about blew it to Dodger in Game 2. Freeman had to come in and put out the fire.

The Braves have placed righties Jim Johnson and R.A. Dickey on revocable waivers, according to Peter Gammons of GammonsDaily.com (via Twitter).
These two veterans become the first to be reported of the many players who’ll hit the waiver wire this month. The placement is the first step toward possibly trading a player; you can read more about that here. It also means little in and of itself, since a team can always pull back a player if a claim is made (hence, “revocable”).
In this case, the news is worthy of note, since both Atlanta pitchers are conceivable trade candidates. Johnson, especially, figures to hold appeal. The 34-year-old has averaged 10.6 K/9 and a fifty percent groundball rate through 44 innings, even if the results (4.09 ERA) aren’t quite as exciting. And he’s earning a reasonable $5MM this year and next, making him a plausible candidate to be claimed.

    From AJC

The Braves made a minor but creative trade Friday, sending minor league outfielder Randy Ventura to the Reds in exchange for $1.25 million in international bonus slot money that can be used to sign international free agents who aren’t subject to the draft.
