ALLEN PARK -- Rod Wood got his wish.
The Detroit Lions president urged the NFL to give Detroit a more home-friendly schedule to open the season, after opening with three road games in four weeks each of the last two years, and four times in the last 10 years overall.
But this year, they won't have to leave the 313 for two of their first three games. They'll host the Arizona Cardinals in the opener on Sept. 10, then return to Ford Field two weeks later to host the defending NFC champion Atlanta Falcons.
Sandwiched in between those games will be a tough one -- a road game in New York against the Giants on Monday Night Football. That's the first of three prime-time games for the Lions, including back-to-back nightcaps against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football in Week 8, then in Green Bay on Monday Night Football in Week 9.
Detroit is one of eight teams to get multiple games on Monday night, joining the Broncos, Chiefs, Dolphins, Eagles, Falcons, Vikings and Washington.
The Lions also host a rare Saturday game against the Chicago Bears in Week 15, and will close yet another push to break their division title drought by hosting Green Bay in the finale. This is the second time in as many years they've played the Packers in Week 17, and third time in the last four overall.
Here's a look at the full 2017 schedule:
    Week 1: Cardinals (1 p.m. Sept. 10 | Fox)
    Week 2: at NY Giants (8:30 p.m. Sept. 18 | ESPN)
    Week 3: Falcons (1 p.m. Sept. 24 | Fox)
    Week 4: at Vikings (1 p.m. Oct. 1 | Fox)
