    Angry Berglund extended

Forward Patrik Berglund agreed to terms on a five-year, $19.25 million contract with the St. Louis Blues on Friday.
The new contract has an average annual value of $3.85 million. Berglund is in the final year of a three-year, $11.1 million contract with an AAV of $3.7 million, according to CapFriendly.com. He could have become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

The 28-year-old has 24 points (17 goals, seven assists) in 60 games this season. He has 286 points (145 goals, 141 assists) in 615 regular-season games during nine seasons, all with the Blues.
Berglund helped St. Louis reach the Western Conference Final last season with nine points (five goals, four assists) in 20 Stanley Cup Playoff games. The Blues lost to the San Jose Sharks in six games.
St. Louis selected Berglund in the first round (No. 25) in the 2006 NHL Draft.

I wish they'd used that money to try to re-sign Shattenkirk.

Problem is... Shattenkirk is going to get double that. (or more)

I like the move. You could make the case that Berglund has been one of our best players since December

    Only issue I have? 5 years...that's a long time.
