Crazy Ned's Pre-Labor Day Deals

So Crazy Ned wheeled and dealed and picked up Ronnie Belliard earlier.
Then Belliard hits a HR on his first plate appearance (even though McDonald lost the game for us).

But then he goes even crazier and wheels and deals and picks up Jim Thome. Then picks up another arm in Jon Garland (a guy who was on the D'Backs bench tonight).

Had to be pretty cool to go from a team that's not gonna finish well to one that's leading the NL. Interesting part is that Garland was due to pitch against the Dodgers Thursday, and will now pitch against the D'Backs on the same day.

He was on the post-game show and the Fox sports announcers had been joking about which 'team hotel' he'd be staying in tonight- D'Backs (where his luggage was) or the Dodgers'. Dude got the news during the game and said goodbye to his teammates and walked down the hall to the Dodgers' clubhouse.

Like Blue Chip stocks....the pay-off's been immediate.

Mini-Manny (yup, that's what Belliard's being called out here) hit an HR in his first AB after being traded and then added 3 ribbies tonight. Garland pitched well and git the win.
