Default Interesting stats on fan attendance

    ....or lack thereof.

Vin Scully was going over tonight's lack of attendance for the mid-week against the D'Backs and added these stats to go with some favorite final game moments....

Babe Ruth's last game: 2,000 in attendance

Stan Musial's last game: 5,000 in attendance

Ted Williams' last game: only 10,000 in attendance

(and the above was based on tickets sold, not actual fans in the park)
    "Well done."

Take it up with Vin, cardboy.

Chances are, he *remembers* Musial's last game (while you weren't even born yet).

The memory of a 70 year old vs newspaper accounts written at the time yep I'm going with the old guy here. Seriously?

I mean ask him what the attendence of a game he was at 2 weeks ago and see if he can get it close. Of course Vin wasn't at Musials last game, since it happened in St Louis vs Cincy.

I'd trust Vin's memory better than someone who formed the site you cited....i don't think he was there either.

(BTW, his name is Sean Forman- from Philly). He's not the Elias Sports Bureau.

    Thanks for playing.

he got the data from retrosheet which gets it's data from the stadium itself. I would trust posted attendence before I trust an old man who WASN'T there.
