    Default Work

It sucked today. I'm the only computer guy there except for my boss who knows more than me and he's a pretty busy guy.

He gave me a list of things to do for the next while and I only know how to do a few of the things.

Nothing like jumping right into the action.

Had a meeting at McD's right after working there all day. I was a dick in the meeting more than I usually am. It's hard for me not to interrupt when the meeting is a laid back style. So I haven't sworn all day and have been on my good side all day.

    It was a fun meeting.

Yep. New job is only part time, so I'm sticking around McD's a little while longer.

    Shmuck you crack me up.

For what it's worth, now that I am a boss myself, I purposely will give my Marines tasks that I know they don't know how to do. I do this to see how they react, how they approach the task, what they do to educate themselves on how to accomplish it, and teach them a thing or two. I'm available when they have questions -- to a point -- and I don't have the attitude of "just make it happen". If they're truly stuck, I'll refer them to the appropriate manual or publication that covers the area, and they learn how to find the answers.

So when your boss is tasking you with things that you know you can't do....he may also know you can't do them and wants to see how you handle that. Some people get all frustrated and rattled and turn into a mess. Others man up, figure it out, and learn.

Nothing really. Those meetings are just a usual waste of time and I fool around in them.

That's what my parents said too, that it could be a test to see how I deal with things. I worked on some things today and will do some more work tomorrow so I can get some stuff done on Thursday.

Billing that much time you should get 2 salaries. I've asked my boss many times for that, but he just laughs at me.

Wouldn't time and a half for overtime be better than a second salary? What am I missing here?

Shmuck not everyone who gets OT gets time and a half, our analysts and consultants if they bill over 96 hours every two weeks get paid time.
