Even though the Hornets came back, the Lakers were still able to maintain the lead and win the game. They got a few lucky plays at the end when it seemed like they were going to be overwhelmed by the Hornets' momentum.

Hopefully, the bench players will get more experience and realize that they're important in maintaining leads and closing games when the lead is that large. All in all, good game and now it's time to travel to Memphis to play the Grizzlies.

Well, getting outscored 42-19 in the fourth quarter is a little disconcerting, zhengi, but it was mostly garbage time. Still, it shouldn't have been that close.

That's true.

I think the problem is that Rudy T has been trying to get consistency from his starters and has thus played them for longer stretches of the game. However, the downside to this is that the bench players don't get enough time to play together and build their chemistry.

This lack of experience from young guys who don't have enough time playing together has caused this team to not be able to build or maintain leads. If Jumaine Jones would have been available, that would mean another guy who would have helped out in that 4th quarter. I also think Rudy T brought back Kobe and Atkins too quickly. He might have wanted to stick with his bench players a little longer in order to see if they could pull out the win.

Yeah, it's a little disappointing that the Hornets came back, but I think as the season progresses, Rudy T will need to get his playes ong in order for such leads to dwindle tha easily again. I would have been nice if the starters got some rest in the 4th to prepare for the rest of their gams. We'll see what effects this game has on our team tomorrow night.

They play Memphis tomorrow night, don't they? That'll be a tough game for them. Second of a back-to-backer against a team that will probably present some matchup problems for the Lakers.

Yeah, no doubt. Plus, they only get one day of rest before they go to Orlando and Houston for another back to back. That's why I was hoping they could get some rest during this game after they had such a big lead.

As I said in another thread, this road trip will tell us alot about this team.

Tonights game was a win, but did not really show well for the Lakers.

Would've been nice to have some rest for the guys -- luckily they are all pretty young and should hold up better than some of the old vets. But any rest is good and they lost out on some of that last night.
