Give it a shot, but try not to copy predictions that others have already made:

1] The Panthers will not have a winning record.
2] The Titans will finish last in the AFC South.
3] The Dolphins will finish ahead of the Jets and Bills, but another season short of the playoffs will be the end of Dave Wannstedt.
4] The best team in the NFC will have no more than 11 wins.
5] LaDainian Tomlinson will not make it through the entire season healthy.
6] The Saints will win the NFC South.
7] Houston will have the best football team in Texas.
8] The Patriots may win more games than all the NFL teams in California combined.
9] Joey Harrington will open the season as the Lions starting QB, but he won't finish the season there.
10] Seattle will be the first team in the NFL to clinch a division title.

1] The Panthers will not have a winning record.

With that defense? I'm not directly disagreeing with you, but they've got a solid team on that side of the ball, if that O-line can gel, they should do well. IMO they're a coin toss team.

2] The Titans will finish last in the AFC South.

I disagree with this one, Fisher is too good of a coach to let his team slip that far. They still have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball.

3] The Dolphins will finish ahead of the Jets and Bills, but another season short of the playoffs will be the end of Dave Wannstedt.

Without Williams, without a passing game, and with all the shakeups on the defensive side of the ball you still have them better than the Bills and the Jets ... I'll have to think about that one ... I'm not overly impressed with either team.

4] The best team in the NFC will have no more than 11 wins.

I don't see that happening. All it'll take is for one team to come apart unexpectedly, and the other contender in that division should end up with 12, perhaps 13 wins. I think they wont do better than that, but IMO the team that wins homefield throughout is going to have 12 or 13 wins.

5] LaDainian Tomlinson will not make it through the entire season healthy.

I see him making it through more than I do Holmes or Taylor. But it isn't that unlikely, he's seen a lot of touches and a lot of hits, and with their lack of other real offensive power, he's likely to again.

6] The Saints will win the NFC South.

Here I disagree. They may have the talent, but they don't have the coaching. They've fallen apart and underachieved every year, I don't see that trend ending any time soon. If Carolina proves to be as bad as you think, I see the South being a rather ugly division.

7] Houston will have the best football team in Texas.

Have they really addressed their offensive line issues? If they finally have, then perhaps. I'm not sold on Dallas at all.

8] The Patriots may win more games than all the NFL teams in California combined.

<chuckle> A bit of a stretch, but the Raiders, 49ers, and Chargers do look pretty ugly. If the AFC East is as weak as you seem to think they are, the Pats should have a clean sweep there, that'd put them well on their way towards pulling this off.

9] Joey Harrington will open the season as the Lions starting QB, but he won't finish the season there.

Do you think they'll hold him responsible for the failings of an offense dominated by rookies? Rogers may be 2nd year, but he missed a huge chunk of last year, I still consider him a rookie.

10] Seattle will be the first team in the NFL to clinch a division title.

Depends, have their receivers recovered from the dropsies, and have they put together a viable defense ... if so, I agree. Though the Packers should clinch theirs pretty early, no real competition there. :p

In no particular order.

1. The Jaguars will win a playoff game, most likely on the road.

2. The worst five teams (record wise) in football will include two former dynasties, the Cowboys and the 49er's.

3. Tampa Bay will finish below Minnesota in team defense.

4. Both the Lions and Bears will play revolving QB's this year, but will go into next season with "confidence" in Harrington and Grossman.

5. There will be 2, 2000 yard rushers this year as both Priest Holmes and Clinton Portis will top the 2 century mark.

6. The Cowboys could very well be the #1 in defense and dead last in offense this year.

7. The Eagles WON'T lose another NFC Championship game, because they won't make it there this year.

8. To the dismay of media types everywhere, Randy Moss will win the MVP award this season, after which he will become a media darling.

9. Teams that will be sitting home come playoff time will be; Green Bay, St Loius, Carolina, and Baltimore.

10. No team will have a shutout this year.

1. New England wont make it to the AFC Championship game (while they will make it to the playoffs).

2. Clinton Portis will not have a successful year in Washington.

3. Minnesota still wont have a playoff calibre defense and will fail to make the playoffs again. Fans will call for Tice's head, but he'll be given one more year.

4. The NFC East will put only one team in the playoffs and that team will host a bye.

5. Vick will have another disappointing season and Atlanta will end up sub .500 again.

6. Jacksonville and Houston will challenge, but their lack of depth will lead to their falling short of the playoffs.

7. San Francisco will compete ...

...

... for the #1 overall draft pick in the 2005 draft.

8. Saint Louis will fight Seattle early on but then will fade down the stretch due to injuries.

9. Detroits' youngsters will drive their fans and opponents nuts. They'll be completely unpredictable putting up good games followed by horrible games. Detroit improves, but finishes 3rd in the North.

10. Green Bay will host the NFC Championship game.

I think I might make this a contest of sorts. I won't give away cash prizes, mainly because I have no money (I'd say poor college student, but that's redundant :D).

However, at the end of the season, we should take a look back at our predictions, and the person who has the most right will get a boost in their user reputation.

I know it's not much, but it is something.

5. Just once, Cris Carter will put on a rubber nose and glasses (minus eyebrows) & do a Groucho Marx imitation.

1. Al Michaels will reference over/unders earlier and earlier in the game.

i can't see how the phins can win division with no boston or ricky.

StevieBDunkNOnU
09-05-2004, 09:58 PM
Well we do have a top 3 defense. We also got a replacement for Boston in Booker. Ricky was the only reason we scored points last year no doubt, but the defense also knew what we were gonna do. Our coaching staff did nothing to adjust and throw the ball more, and we ran the ball everytime last year. Now we will be throwing it more(AJ Feeley has really impressed during Pre-season), we got great passing weapons for him.

Now i dont know about winning the division, but remember last time the Pats tried for back-to-back, they went 9-7 the following year. So if they went 8-8, 9-7, or 10-6, losing 1 game to us, we could win the division. But thats why they play the games....

2. cincinnati will win their division.
3. peyton manning will break Marino's passing TD record.
4. after fumbling four times in one half, daunte culpepper will be benched and mike tice will tell randy moss to go in at quarterback and "just throw the damn ball."
5. seattle receivers will force announcers to use calculus to determine the number of dropped passes by the end of the season.
6. Washington will win the NFC east.
7. Only four teams from last years' playoffs--Seattle, New England, Green Bay, and Kansas City--will be back in the playoffs this year.
8. Mike Sherman will pick someone off the street to punt for the packers on the way to the stadium for the packers-vikings game.
9. All four teams in the NFC South finish at 8-8.
10. Peyton Manning also breaks Marino's single season passing yardage. Marino goes berserk and storms onto the field and pummels Manning, screaming, "laces OUT!" Mike Vanderjack is forced to separate the two.

Looking good with this prediction as the Panthers are 1-7.
Half way through, this prediction is true.
Ain’t looking good here with the Jets at 6-2, the Bills at 3-5, and the Dolphins at 1-8.
not looking good here either with the Eagles with 7 wins already.
He has at least 17 carries per game so far.
Halfway through, the Saints trail the Falcons by three games.
Dallas 3-5; Houston 4-4
California Teams 10 wins – New England 7 wins.
Harrington is still in there at this point.
With a one game lead, that prediction isn’t looking good at this point. The Falcons have a three game lead halfway through.
