View Full Version : horrible game
yeeeeesh!
we had absolutely
NO ball movement
NO defense
NO rebounding
8 assists? steve francis alone made that tonight.
that was disheartening to watch. i my prediction was that LA would win tonight's game too and fall flat against the spurs. guess not...
but i'm half glad we lost. This is simply the lack of effort and teamwork in LA's game. if they would have won, maybe they would get complacent???? so... it's a necessary evil, i guess...
i really wish malone would return because we need his presence in the post.
Divac hurry back!

I really blame this game on Kobe. He needed to be looking to involve his teammates more, even though they weren't doing much in the first half. I thought the Lakers would switch it up for the 2nd half and use more team oriented offense. I was really surprised that they went to the exact same game plan in the 1st.
Kobe also needs to take more of the screens given to him. Last year, there were no screens for him to free himself. This year, he needs to use them rather than turning the corner and trying to take his man off the ball. Kobe needs to realize he has help this year.
i have a feeling la's going to lose against san an this friday. i just hope it's not a blowout. at least there should be some kind of competition. (i guess, a maximum of a dozen points).

Spurs are going to be tough, but if we rebound, we'll have a good chance of winning. The Spurs have historically had trouble playing against more athletic teams. As long as the Lakers defend and rebound, they'll have a good chance of beating them.
it's not like lakers didn't lose games this horribly in the past even in the shaq-kobe era.
well, i'm over our horrible performance. :D
GO LAKERS! show them spurs what is winning all about!

Yeah, I actually have the Lakers surprising the Spurs and taking the win. I hope my hunch is correct :)

This really was ugly. Guess with a team that young you have to take the good with the bad. Utah really looked pretty good though. Terrible shooting and terrible job on the boards. I don't think they'll have too many games where they shoot that terribly, so that is a plus.
Lamar really needs to settle into his role. He should be open a little more since Kobe will be doubled everytime. He still looks a little lost in the half-court offense. Hopefully that'll come soon.

I didn't think it was a horrible game. I guess it's just which way you choose to look at it.

Anti-Lakers fan or just looking at the positive sides of growing pains?

1st column. Though if I was a lakers fan I would say its back to back and you traveled away to a very good basketball city for their home opener, tough one to win on the road.

Glad to have you around! We could use a little friendly banter over here!
It wasn't exactly a situation that we should've won. Would've been nice to have a little better showing, but we'll be working out the kinks for awhile. Tough game with the back-to-back and the fresh and very talented Jazz.
