I didn't think he was very interested in the Mets position because of things he has said. I don't think they were close enough to the playoffs for him, but even bigger was the geography of the situation. I think he won't talk to anyone who isn't within a close proximity to Pittsburgh. But I hope we know that he is our manager by Thursday.

Why does he interview there if he's not at least interested?
New York isn't that much further from Pittsburgh then Philadelphia.
Regardless of what you think of the above, the fact that this isn't even a possibility anymore has to be at least mildly encouraging, IMO.

Oh, I agree, I would much rather see less people competing for him. I thought from what he had said that this was really the only job he was interested in, so I think the ball is really in the Phils court.

Well he told the Mets earlier that he wasn't interested in coaching again, but that he had a couple tips on who would be, when they initially asked for him to do an interview. I seriously think he may have taken an interview just to save face with some people....as reports were saying some of his friends contacted the Phils to let them know he was interested in their open spot. This isnt even from biased sources...this is from espn.

I really think he'll get it right....seriously what has he done wrong since he's been given a payroll? He probably could have done slightly better but not a LOT better than he has done. Really all he could have done is make us a World Series contender/favorite...which he did. You cant really ask for any more from the GM.

Apparantly you and I are the only one's who think Wade will do the right thing, SU. Manuel is our manager and I am all for that. Wade's offseason moves have always been popular ones so give the guy some credit.
