Maybe you should mention that Ryan Howard is the next option at first base.
In fact, you should have listed the other options we have at catcher (Pratt).
Then see how many people are ready to trade Thome and annoint Howard as the new savior.

These are the same people drinking the kool-aid that Ed Wade is providing.

That's why we have the discussion here, I will be doing that for second base b/c we had a split at that position and clearly will not have the same starter there as last year. But at 1b, Thome is the starter, played most of the games, and will be the starter and play most of the games next year.

Howard wants to play 1b, its going to be for another team next year or less then 10 games for the Phils.

But that's why we have discussions, feel free to talk about Howard in this thread, in the LF thread too I guess, but as of right now, he won't be starting for us next year.
