It's a start of a new era for the Lakers. This Tuesday, it's the start of the new season. Lakers vs. the Nuggets. It'll be an interesting season :)

Although it's the start of a new era, I can't say I'm looking forward to it. :(

Hey ya, Zhengi. What do you think the Lakers will do this year. IMO, they will make the playoffs, but not by much. What's the word out in L.A.?

Well, we've heard a lot of negatives about this team ever since the loss of Shaq, some of it deservedly, some of it not.
This team has a chance to compete and work hard in every game. Kobe has shown that he won't tolerate people who will not work hard and slack off during practices and games.
That's a good quality to have. I think the Lakers can win 50 games. It'll be tough, but they can do it. Also, if they do challenge in the Pacific and win this division, they'll be at least 3rd seed.
And suburbanstreet, relax. You'll like this team. They'll play hard and they won't have that light switch mentality like the old Laker teams. Even if they don't make the playoffs, this team will be fun to watch. We're looking at a rebuilding project that is slated for about 3 years. Just add a few more pieces and we'll be right in the mix of things.

As for the media here in LA, they're not too fond of this Lakers team. I assume they want the Lakers to miss the playoffs. Most of the reporters here were Shaq fans.

I have said, since the end of last season, that I am looking forward to the 'new era'. It will be rocky, but exciting and full of possibilities.
We will definately see what Mitch has learned from the Logo!

We certainly will be better conditioned, which will probably help with some of the lapses we've had in the past. Running and gunning is going to be fun. I watched part of the Kings/Sunds game last night and I don't see why we couldn't compete for that division crown. It may only take 50 wins.
