Yo Bishop...

Time for a trade? Is Todd's time done in Vancouver?

I keep listening in to the games and this guy's playin' like he wants out...

Tons of rumours out there, some involving Bert... The latest one I have heard has Bert going to Ottawa as part of a three-way deal involving Florida... Looks something like this:

To Ottawa: Bertuzzi and Jokinen
To Florida: Morrison, Havlat, Volchenkov, 1st round pick (Van) and possibly Clouts
To Vancouver: Luongo and Fischer

Who the hell knows what happens in the next week...

Risky trade for Ottawa, yeah they are going for the cup but adding Bertuzzi and his salary means they can pretty much kiss Chara and probably Redden away as free agents next year.

When did the last 3 way trade happen in the NHL? It's not going to happen.

Here's Bob Mackenzie's article and it has a small bit about Bertuzzi

10) The Boston Bruins aren't trading netminder Andrew Raycroft, not unless someone steps up with a ridiculous offer. Hannu Toivonen's high ankle sprain will keep him out for another couple of weeks, so Raycroft isn't going anywhere… for now, anyways.

9) For all the talk we have heard of Buffalo's Marty Biron being traded, we shouldn't be surprised if the Sabres move Mika Noronen, not Biron.

8) As teams phone to inquire about Keith Tkachuk in St. Louis and Ed Belfour in Toronto, and teams are calling on both, something to keep in mind; they have no-trade clauses and what they will no doubt want to waive those is a commitment to pick up their club options next season, which for Belfour is $4.84 million and for Tkachuk, $3.8 million in actual salary but $5.7 against the cap.

7) The player virtually guaranteed to be dealt is Washington defenceman Brendan Witt. He wants out and the Caps are working diligently to make it happen. Teammate Jeff Friesen is on his way out, too.

6) The Edmonton Oilers will get a goaltender but when all is said and done it may be Curtis Joseph on his second tour of duty with the Oil.

5) The Vancouver Canucks are a lot more interested in getting a defenceman, or two, than they are a goaltender. Alex Auld's numbers are better than most of the goalies available so if they get a stopper, it's someone to complement auld, not replace him.

4) If the phoenix coyotes can't sign defencemen Derek Morris and Denis Gauthier, one or both of them will be moved.

3) As much as Mike Keenan wants to trade Olli Jokinen, the Florida Panthers GM may be forced to hold on to him. Keenan is a pragmatist who knows the Panthers aren't likely to make the playoffs and Jokinen is likely to walk at season's end, but if Florida comes up with another couple of road wins in the next week, like Tuesday's convincing blowout of Tampa Bay, he may have no choice but to hold on to the Finn and send the right message to his young team and Panthers fans, which is of course to take a run at making the playoffs.

2) If, however, Jokinen is going to be dealt by the Panthers, the Ottawa Senators will be at the front of the line to get him, but they won't be parting with, as rumoured, Anton Volchenkov or any other blue chipper off their roster. A Jokinen deal will be done for draft picks, some high drafts picks and perhaps many draft picks, but just draft picks.

1) The Ottawa Senators may be the best team in the NHL and GM John Muckler says publicly he won't be disappointed if he goes into the playoffs with his current lineup, but that isn't stopping him from burning up the phone lines in search of a veteran backup for Dominik Hasek but more importantly a front-line forward with size and grit, like Jokinen or Vancouver's Todd Bertuzzi or any impact player who can help get the Senators over the Stanley Cup hump.
