Wally traded! Hello Ricky Davis

Boston will deal Ricky Davis, Mark Blount, Marcus Banks, Justin Reed and two 2nd round draft picks to Minnesota for Wally Szczerbiak, Michael Olowokandi, Dwayne Jones and a conditional future first round draft pick.

holy shitcakes this is a big trade. i don't like the idea of losing wally, but davis is about equal of a player. great to dump kandi for blount, but blount has a big contract...i wouldn't mind trying to move him. banks is a nice throw in. picks don't matter, our inability to draft anyone decent in the 2nd round will show that.

overall i think the trade is ok for us...but something had to be done. this is worth a shot.

Well, I actually think Minny got the best in this deal. The only part I don't like is that 1st round pick.

But Davis is a step up from Wally. Scores about the same, but can slash, unlike Wally. Plus, Davis can handle the ball. Watching Wally dribble was like watching a 5-year old. And Davis averages double the assists as Wally.

Banks is a great addition. The Wolves definitely need someone who can handle the ball and distribute. Jaric just isn't cutting it. But allowing Jaric to move to a more natural position should make him effective as well.

Taking Blount was necessary to compensate for Wally's contract. He certainly isn't a step down from Kandi and could actually contribute more than Kandi playing next to a player like KG.

The problem now is how do you get enough playing time for Hassell, Jaric, Davis, Banks, Hudson and McCants. That's a full backcourt. I think they need to try and get rid of Hudson or Jaric to make the thing work.
