If I'm not mistaken, the Skins gave Saunders the Asst. HC job and OC. And if I'm not doubly mistaken, the Skins gave Greg Robinson the Asst. HC job and DC.
WTF?

I think Vince Tobin was an assistant HC for the Packers and he was not the DC or the OC.

Gregg Williams you mean? Otherwise that's at least 3. Ah, well, Snyder can afford them.

You guys have most of it wrong. I'll see if I can right this for you.
Head Coach: Joe Gibbs
Assistant Head Coach Offense: Joe Bugel (also helps with offensive line)
Assistant Head Coach Defense: Gregg Williams
Offensive Coordinator: Al Saunders
Defensive Coordinator: Greg Blache (who doubles as Defensive Line Coach)
Now, last year, Joe Gibbs called all of the plays on offense. On defense, Gregg Williams was the predominant voice, with his trusted friend Blache monitoring things in the booth. Bugel helped with game planning, but never called any plays. Neither did last years offensive coordinator Don Breaux.
This year, Gibbs is giving up calling most of the plays, and will focus more on the front office and game planning portion of the game. Al Saunders will be given free reign on offensive playcalling, and he is well qualified, having run the same type of offense in KC, the Air Coryell offense designed by Don Coryell and Gibbs himself.
On defense, it doesn't look as though anything will change. Williams will continue to call most of the plays, with Blache in the booth.
I hope this clears it up for some of you. If not, feel free to ask questions.
