...according to an article in the Boston Herald the other day. He says if the team doesn't get better by February (and it won't) he would be open to a trade to a contender. From the team's standpoint, it might be their best chance to trade him, he's having an excellent all-around season. We'll see...

Thoughts?

But it looks like the Celtics are going to get Olowokandi. That makes them better, right?;)

I think they need a very good point guard and a fairly high draft pick in any deal for Pierce.

At the minimum.

But a Pierce for Peja/Skinner deal works under the cap.

Ahh... we're screwed either way.

I'll take Kandi if we can get rid of Blount.

I'll take Pierce. We can't get to the FT line and he would really help that. Have Tim Thomas, Duhon and a pick for Pierce/filler if needed.

At the minimum.Delonte West. kid is a baller and the future point guard of that team.

I'm not sold on Delonte quite yet. I like his energy, but he's still too inconsistent and turns the ball over too much. Plus he's small. But it is only his 2nd year, I believe. Not saying they should trade him. Just wouldn't mind having a presence around to be a mentor. Gary Payton actually did a hell of a job here last year in that capacity, and that is where he has been missed the most.

I think the Bulls would have to include Gordon or Deng to get a deal done for Pierce.

Deng & Duhon, perhaps?

With Hinrichio and Gordon...Pierce would be nice...

Of course, we'd still have ZERO in the middle....

You should forget about all those turnovers because he is young and start looking at what really matters like perhaps the fact he can flat out shoot. 3 ball, Ft, 15 ft whatever. Kid has been shooting like a motherfucker the past 2 months. Shit, you guys could always give up on him too early and trade him away like another certain PG playing in the league today. 3 guess at who that guy is.

I think Pierce should go nowhere. The Celtics can get better with him there. Getting more young players will do jack. Also dont get Kandi. For the love of GOd please. I couldnt deal with that.

Why would Paul want to go to the Bulls? He want to go to a playoff contending team, and not one that might make it as a 8 seed.

It's a trade, not free agency.

Wouldn't be his choice.

*shrugs* THAT all depends on the semantics of what he meant when he said "contender" now, doesn't it? Playoff contender? Eastern conference championship contender? NBA Championship contender?

Lot of contenders to go around...

Pierce and Gomes to San Antonio for Nesterovic and Barry works under the cap as well.

I would imagine the Spurs would need to include draft picks.

At this point they are a contender for 2 very early lottery picks.

Pierce isn't going anywhere unless he's packaged with LaFrentz OR equal value (which is defintely not going to happen)... you just don't throw away a top 10 player for crap...

As the Knicks continue to fall apart the Curry trade is looking better and better for the Bulls.

I was in attendance for the double OT Paul Pierce show against the Cavs. He didn't go anywhere this year, and I doubt he will be traded next either. Ainge has had several chances to trade him.

I hope we do so because trading Pierce is the ONLY way we can get LaFrentz and Sacalbrine's contracts off the cap....

P makes 13M
LaFrentz makes 10M
Sacalbrine makes 3M

We need a combination of 26 million in return.

I'd take a combo of 1 good expensive player, some expiring contracts, and one first rounder.

We'll give you Webber for Pierce and LaFrentz. The expensive part is there, no need for expiring contracts, can have the first rounder if you need.
