ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Kings (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/clubhouse?team=los) will try to regain their momentum on Monday when they visit the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
Los Angeles, which is tied atop the Pacific Division with Dallas, has won nine of its last 12 contests. During the surge, the Kings have posted a 6-1-1 mark against division rivals.
However, the Kings are coming off a 3-2 loss at San Jose in the opener of their four-game road trip on Saturday. Lubomir Visnovsky scored and assisted on Sean Avery (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=2749)'s tally to help the Kings to a 2-0 lead in the first period.
Anaheim has lost its last two games, including a 4-1 loss against Minnesota on Saturday in the finale of its five-game road swing.
The Mighty Ducks, who have scored just 2.77 goals a game this season, traded away one of their better scorers Sunday as Petr Sykora was traded to the New York Rangers (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/clubhouse?team=nyr). The Czech right wing, who collected seven goals and 13 assists this season, and a 2007 fourth-round pick were dealt in exchange for rookie defenseman Maxim Kondratiev (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=3012).
Los Angeles has won the first two meetings against Anaheim this season, including a 4-3 shootout home victory December 16.
