ST. LOUIS - Goalie Chris Beckford-Tseu was named to the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light on January 25 in Fresno, California.

In a vote of National Conference coaches, team captains, and media members, Bhttp://www.stlouisblues.com/news/images/pix_Beckford-Tseu_Chris-HS.jpgeckford-Tseu was named as a starter. The 21-year-old Beckford-Tseu currently is in the midst of his second stint with Peoria, where he made his second appearance for the Rivermen on Dec. 30 in an 11-5 loss to the Chicago Wolves. His most recent start for Alaska came December 16 in Victoria, immediately after which he traveled to St. Louis and served as a back-up for the Blues in their games versus Philadelphia.

Beckford-Tseu remains unbeaten in an Alaska sweater at 9-0-2, including a 4-0 shutout of Bakersfield October 30, to go along with a 1.96 GAA (second in the ECHL behind teammate Matt Underhill) and a .927 save percentage (fourth). Originally a fifth round pick of St. Louis in 2003, the Toronto native remains under contract with the Blues.

Wow, haven't heard of him since his Junior days. Never really thought he'd make it further in hockey either.

He's played a little for the Blues this season, too.

Um, I meant he was dressed as a backup for one game. I remember the game but didn't remember that he saw no action.

He used to play for my favourite Junior team a few years back. I didn't think at the time that he had enough talent to be a star in the AHL.

Well, I'm hoping that either he, Bacashihua, Sanford or Marek Schwarz will finally be the goalie solution we've been searching for. Ever since stupid Mike Keenan traded Curtis Joseph we've had a revolving door of goalies (Grant Fuhr, Roman Turek, Brent Johnson, Chris Osgood, Patrick Lalime).
