CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- Two days after being named to the United States Olympic Hockey Team, Craig Conroy (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=1195) returns to familiar surroundings.
Conroy plays his first game at Calgary since the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday when the Los Angeles Kings (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/clubhouse?team=los) look for their fourth straight win against the Flames.
Before signing with Los Angeles as a free agent, Conroy helped the Flames win the Western Conference title nearly two years ago by scoring six goals and adding 11 assists in the 2004 playoffs.
After learning he and teammate Aaron Miller (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=895) had been selected for the U.S. Olympic squad, Conroy scored a shorthanded goal for the Kings in Monday's 4-3 shootout victory over the Vancouver Canucks.
Alexander Frolov (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=2578) scored the clincher in the shootout for the Kings, who are tied with Dallas for first place in the Pacific Division.
Calgary failed to hold a two-goal lead in the third period in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Edmonton Oilers (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/clubhouse?team=edm), which snapped a three-game losing streak.
Although he picked up one assist, Jarome Iginla (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=1453) has failed to score a goal in his last six home games, his longest streak since an eight-game stretch from December 7, 2003-January 3, 2004.
The Flames are 9-2-2 in their last 13 meetings with the Kings, including a 3-2 victory October 23. Chris Simon (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=595) scored twice for Calgary.
