The longest HR hit in Red Sox history. 502 feet by Ted Williams

Happened in 1946, vs. the Yankees, and there was a Yankees fan asleep in the outfield, and the ball hit him in the head.

He supposedly converted to a Red Sox fan saying "It was a sign"

I got all this stuff from the Fenway Tour/Guides. Very cool tour, take it if you get a chance.

OK guys, here's a trivia question in two parts for you. It shows that I knew about the Red Sox long before I started rooting for them. Here goes. The Red Sox were the last team in baseball to hit over 300 for a season. What year was it and what player on that team won the Batting Title that year even though he didn't have a steady position?

I only guess his name because when I was growing up, he was my favorite player.

I know its wrong.

Jim Rice.

The Red Sox were the last team to hit 300 for a full season. What was the year and what was the average? Come on guys, indulge me. I wasn't a Red Sox fan then but for some reason the team always fascinated me.
