Just want to thank the Phillies voters who gave me their plurality. I guess I'm not very popular with non-Phillies fans. Which begs the question, why do their votes count to begin with? Especially those who were not "authorized," like the Polish Princess and Klutz?

No offense to Care_Much or you was meant, but he really doesn't seem to post much around here. The seedings weighed heavily upon the length of one's registration with Sportsboards. So while he posted sparsely, he also has been around longer than many of us. So he was higher ranked.
The funny thing is, I now remember him because of his avatar, and I'm sure that I enjoyed his posting a lot. There are just so many posters that it's tough to know people if they participate sporadically. I still get NYCPhillie and Techyankee mixed up. Probably if they posted more often, I'd learn about them.

I just want to clarify again on the seedings.
First of all, we were bound to have some tough matchups in this round just because of how many great posters we have here. Its not going to be easy no matter what...even in round one!
But the seedings were based on the few numbers available to me at the time. Had I known further in advance that I would be running this, I would have had a better rankings system in place. As I've said, I promise next year will be better.

Also, the other voters counted because some of them do post on the Phils board. I decided (based on the consensus at the time), that I would keep them, and that Phils board voters would be used for a tie-breaker.
Unfortunately, mistakes are bound to happen the first time something is done.

It's a rematch from last year's Battle of the Phillies Posters in which you won. I believe MikeLewis had been absent from the boards at the time of that voting, though, which may have affected the outcome.
In addition, people have probably started to get tired of the 2000 word essay-responses that you love to write up so that could negatively affect you in this rematch. Just kidding, of course. I highly doubt anyone is growing tired of the responses since they are some of the most intelligent posts written on sports-boards.
But I better stop talking before Care_Much shows up and starts making gay accusations. Just kidding, again.

Ah, I suspected you'd sniff out my ruse. My college buddies and I always used to call it "crying your way into a win," but the theory's the same (whine as much as possible about how you don't have a chance and hope that your insane amount of crying somehow shifts the luck in your favor). Of course, if this doesn't work, I'll just wait until the day of the vote and sick the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth on you to cast doubt on your loyalty to Philly sports teams. I have no objections to winning dirty.

Yeah, I'd like to say that it was a conscious decision not to vote because I couldn't decide who to vote for so I could be diplomatic and sound like a good guy, but in truth it was nothing more than laziness -- I only voted in the match-ups that were on the first page. Of course, with that said, I undoubtedly would have voted for you Doc, so please don't hesitate to return the hypothetical vote.

Kidding perhaps, but probably accurate. I snuck in and pulled off an upset last time because I was fairly new to these boards and jumped in with a flurry of activity (and, as you pointed out, Mike Lewis hadn't been around for awhile). And I was trying to keep my post-length down and not alienate too many people who simply don't have time to read 8,000 word essays discussing all possible angles involved in a decision to pull Corey Lidle after 88 pitches instead of letting him start the next inning.
For a while, I was like the 1989 Ron Jones of the Phillies board, coming out of nowhere during a fairly low-point of the season, and I sucked enough people into thinking that I could turn into an all-star right fielder. Going to bat for Charlie Manuel and suggested that he wasn't as stupid as he sounded was my equivalent of Jones running into the wall and blowing out his knees on the warning track at the Vet. I'm not sure if I'll ever recover from that one...

While I don't deny saying those things, my support for Doc lies in the fact that, as I recall, he's a loyal Bills fan and I've always had a special place in my heart for the boys in blue (and red). And because I'm running a positive campaign ("Hope is on the way!"), I won't address the rumors that you've got shrines to Scott Norwood, Frank Wychek, and Kevin Dyson in your home...however much truth those rumors actually may have to them, I will simply not stoop to that level.

Phenomenally astute and wise though he may be, I simply won't condone selling out my principles simply to appeal to Doctor X...I find your shameless courting of Doctor X's vote to be sad and disgusting.
I'm just waiting for you to officially comment on the allegations of your Cowboy fannery.
I think the people have a right to now the truth, Mr. Detto...if that is your real name.
Phillies posters...do you really want your vote going to an alleged Cowboy fan?

It's looking like you will face off against LWolf. And PhilaVa and RoyMunson will probably battle JSavoy and Ed Who?, respectively.
The top 3 seeds could potentially be knocked out of the tournament as those are all good posters.
That would be interesting.

Phila and Roy have better shots at moving on than I do.
Although I wouldn't mind getting matched up against Jsavoy. I'll bring out all the BMF misogynistic posts to win that one....

Yeah, I feel like a senior citizen on these boards. I'm 31. And no, I don't need Viagra yet.
I'm 22 and I already feel like an old man. Life after high school goes very fast. Can't be chasing after those young girls anymore either.

Mine too. Also, "I only came here to do two things, kick some ass and drink some beer and it looks like we're almost outta beer." I think someone used that one recently.

I simply deny that the so-called "Music City Miracle" ever happened...I'm sorry my opponent can't join me in that thinking.
That play pissed me off and I didnt even care about either of the teams involved. I'm still pretty damn sure that it was a forward lateral.

That was just a funny play all around. It is impossible to tell from the camera angles that they had. We'll never know . . .

That same quote is in the old DukeNukem 3D game. Except its flipped: "I'm here to kick as and chew bubblegum...and I'm all out of gum"

Probably something involving a twenty dollar bill and a video camera.
