Didn't see that one coming. When the Braves hired him as hitting coach, their offense went from very mediocre to explosive though. Not sure if maybe it was just coincidence or not though.
Anyone have any idea who the mystery 7th candidate is? According to Phillies.com its Manuel, Little, Baylor, Fregosi, Pendleton, and Bell.....and that they aren't announcing the 7th yet. Maybe someone under contract or something?

I think Pendleton would be a good choice.

So do I. He was the consummate professional while in St. Louis and his only mistake was signing with the Braves. He shouldn't be punished for that. We all make mistakes.

That's very interesting, I hadn't heard that and would think he would want to stay in Atl. rather then be the head guy in Philly, I think its safe to say he won't be the guy.

Anyone who ever put on an Atlanta Braves jersey is a mistake if you ask me.

Well I'm sure when he got into being a hitting coach and any previous coaching jobs before that, that he was hoping to eventually land a head coaching job. I'm sure he'd prefer to be the head coach in philly to being an assistant coach in atlanta. I doubt he'll be hired, but being interviewed will be his next stepping stone.
