Alright guys...here's the thread to nominate non-Phillies fans to be eligible to vote for the Second Annual Battle of the Phillies Posters.
I will keep a list here...just make sure when you nominate that you give a reason why. I would like to keep it for people who actually post on the board, or at least talk baseball with these guys and are familiar with most of them.
So far, I have recommendations for, and have accepted:
Manny
Preds
Ryr
Madnova
Jiddy
Pitpen

I gotcha for Madnova...I see him on here all the time.
Jiddy on the other hand...I cant say I've seen him on the Phils board much, though that doesnt mean he's not here...care to explain why you picked him? (not arguing, just dont know why).

I am everywhere.
Except the hockey boards. I need to correct that.

He's participated on our board quite a bit actually, and he's an avid baseball fan. (his loyalty is Chi White Sox)
He's pretty familiar with most Phils posters I think. He'd be a good voter.

Yeah Mad was our board Mod for a while. He seems to post on every board just about as much as the people who are fans of the team the board represents. I personally think Madnova isn't a single person but a collection of people trained to post in a specific way, a posting sweatshop in some third world nation if you will...a nation of ducks...evil yet sexy ducks

Hmmm. I wonder if this brings any further complications to the situation.
Person X votes against Person Y who is in competition with Person Z.
Person Y feels betrayed and now wants to enact revenge on Person X. So Person Y votes against Person X in later matches -- although they would have voted for Person X is they didn't know they didn't vote for them.
I don't know if that is a legitimate problem.
I'm going to try and vote as objectively as possible. So it doesn't matter to me.

If everyone votes objectively, this shouldn't be a problem, but I see your point. The other tourneys have been private viting, I believe.
There is no perfect method to this. I'm in favor of either. If Domino did the voting private I'd be fine with it, and if he does it the way he plans to, that's fine to. In the end, someone is going to bitch about something. Some people bitch regardless. Can't please everyone.

I actually prefer the way that Domino would be doing it. I just don't want anyone's feelings to get hurt as this is supposed to be fun.
As Illadelphia pointed out, it's starting to get too complicated...
So I'll just shut up with my little nitpicks.

On the other hand, "Fan" knows everyone on the Phils board but didn't make exception list?

It's more than knowing us, its posting with us on here. A lot of guys on the Phils board arent actually that well known off that board.
Also, Mad posts here a lot, as a fan of the Marlins...he doesnt really have a home, but does post there fairly often.

Regarding Mad, I wouldn't trust him to vote unless you put a 'Bryant Gumbel' option in every contest.

I can't explain why I did something I did not do.
My list of people I've banned goes like this:
First post spammers
People who have paid me to ban them
Phila
Cupster
Madnova
If you are not on that list, you were not banned by me and as such fall under the "assume" rule, making asses out of us both.
But yes, I have posted on this board many many times, what with the Marlin thing and my affinity for Eagle fans.

The only possible solution I have for those of you who are going to complain about outsiders voting in the tourney is that they must not only be approved, but also must post their reason for who they vote for.
It's up to you guys...I'm just the one putting this all together.

Well, Domino, it's times like these that you need to just take charge and make a decision, and then stick with it. Gathering public opinion is only effective to a certain degree. You'll never get a unanimous opinion, so make your decision(s), stick with them, rule with an iron fist, and get this thing started already.

Rep power is the amount of rep you bestow upon someone when you rep them.
If you want to sort people by the amount of rep they ave recieved, click on Member List, and then click on Reputation to sort by rep.

So if I understand this correctly, if someone wanted to up their "rep power" they should kiss up to posters with alot of rep because those people giving you rep count more than if some schmo with 0 rep gives you rep. Does that make any sense whatsover?

I take it as a personal compliment any time someone takes the time to give me rep, regardless of rep power.
The goal is not to have the most rep. That would make you ryr's enemy.
