and this team is in trouble. I guess it's a good thing that we have suckos like the Blackhawks and the Blue Jackets in our division. At the same time, though, if we don't start playing well we'll never catch the Wings or the Predators. Stupid Lauries gutting the team...:mad:

Drake suspended for two games (first game was last night), Tkachuk, Lalime, Boguniecki and Backman hurt. This team lacks the leadership that Pronger and MacInnis brought. We need to get healthy and get a leader. Drake is captain in name only. If we don't start playing with some heart out there, a new captain should be found (Jamal Mayers?).

I don't know. For the first time in many years, there doesn't seem to be a clear captain, a player the rest of the team finds motivation from. We've been spoiled with the likes of Pronger, Macinnis, Shanahan, Gretsky, and Hull.

The closest player to captaincy IMO is Jackman.

This team is a clear case of where the people in charge (Lauries, Sauer and Pleau) have quit caring what this team does on the ice. If Dave Checketts does buy this team, I hope he backs the truck up to the front door of the Savvis Center and puts Mark Sauer and Larry Pleau's asses in it and drives them somewhere far away.

That's probably true. It'd be a shame to end the playoff streak because of being sold. I mean, why the hell keep Weight but trade Pronger (I realize the money was different but, c'mon!). We lost leaders and didn't replace them.

Now we're 2-7-3. It's ridiculous that we can't hold a lead or keep enough momentum to take it to a shootout. We were down by three goals last night, tied it, and then lost in overtime...this is going to be a long season.

I think Weight had a no trade clause. What sucked for you guys is with the ownership question you couldn't buy a guy like Weight and keep Pronger.

Look at the bright side, if you continue to suck you might have the chance to draft Phil Kessel

I don't care about prospects. My hope is that Checketts buys the team in time to gut it and make a run at the playoffs this season.

Hope you get Kessell trust me. Some hockey people say he'll be better than Crosby when it's all said and done.

Kessell might be a great prospect but I'd like to the Blues to at least be competitive!
