The Los Angeles Kings (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/los/) look to rebound from their first loss in more than a week when they host an Anaheim Mighty Ducks (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/ana/) team hoping to improve its play on the road.

Los Angeles had a two-goal lead, but lost 3-2 to the Calgary Flames (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/cgy/) on Sunday. It was the first-place Kings' first defeat since a 5-2 loss Oct. 13 to Detroit. They've dropped two of three at home after winning their first three at Staples Center.

Luc Robitaille (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/8/) and Derek Armstrong (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/1029/) scored first-period goals Sunday for the Kings, who went 1-for-10 on the power play.

Robitaille opened the scoring at 16:13 of the first period, deflecting Joe Corvo (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/2752/)'s 45-foot slap shot past Kiprusoff for his 656th goal and 545th with the Kings, six short of Marcel Dionne's franchise record.

Kings goalie Mathieu Garon (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/1968/) played well, stopping a penalty shot in the third period, but his record fell to 2-3-0.

``I think this might have been the best game Mathieu Garon has played for us,'' Los Angeles coach Andy Murray said. ``It's just too bad he didn't get the result he wanted.''

The Mighty Ducks snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-3 win over Phoenix on Sunday.

Anaheim, though, has lost four straight on the road since opening the season with a 5-3 win at Chicago.

``When you win, you win as a team and when you lose, you lose as a team. We've done enough losing for now,'' Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said.

Petr Sykora (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/1333/), Teemu Selanne (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/500/) and Andy McDonald (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/2175/) scored first-period goals for Anaheim on Sunday. Phoenix narrowed the gap to 3-2 in the second, but the Ducks held on.

Anaheim got the decisive score on rookie Jonathan Hedstrom (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/2813/)'s first NHL goal with 15:19 left. Rob Niedermayer (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/662/) added a power-play goal with 34 seconds remaining on an assist from his brother, Scott.

Mighty Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/3357/), who scored his first NHL goal in a 3-2 loss to the Red Wings on Friday, had two assists against the Coyotes for the first multipoint game of his career.

Anaheim left wing Todd Fedoruk (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/1997/) was in Philadelphia on Sunday to attend the funeral of his father-in-law. He's expected to be back for Tuesday's game.

Ducks center Sergei Fedorov (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/33/) sat out his fifth consecutive game with a groin injury. His status for Tuesday is uncertain.

What an occasion this is. My first hockey vbet. My wife got some tickets to the ducks game tomorrow. I've never been to the pond before and hate the ducks. I wish the tickets were for tonight. Go Kings.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Rookie Jason LaBarbera made 29 saves, and Mike Cammalleri, Luc Robitaille (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=8) and Craig Conroy (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=1195) scored goals in the Los Angeles Kings (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/clubhouse?team=los)' 3-1 victory over the Anaheim Mighty Ducks (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/clubhouse?team=ana) on Tuesday night.

The Kings won the first of eight meetings this season between the Southern California rivals without Jeremy Roenick (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=4), sidelined by groin and hamstring injures. Their 7-2-0 start is their best since 1990-91, when they finished 46-24-10 and won a division title before losing in the second round of the playoffs.

LaBarbera improved to 5-0, matching the best start by a goalie in Kings history. Daniel Berthiaume won his first five decisions in 1990-91 as Kelly Hrudey's backup. LaBarbera has yet to allow more than two goals in any start, and has stopped 126 of 132 shots.

LaBarbera's bid for his first NHL shutout was spoiled by Andy McDonald with 12:26 to play. McDonald beat LaBarbera through the pads with a 25-foot wrist shot from the left circle after Todd Fedoruk threaded a perfect backhand pass through three Kings.

But Conroy added an insurance goal with 16 seconds left, converting a rebound of Alexander Frolov (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=2578)'s shot seconds after Anaheim killed off a hooking penalty against Petr Sykora (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=1754).

Anaheim's Ilya Bryzgalov (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=2594) made 30 saves in his third straight start, while Jean-Sebastien Giguere (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=1514) remained sidelined by a groin injury. Sergei Fedorov (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=33), who has 29 goals and 49 points in 50 career games against the Kings, missed his sixth straight game because of a groin strain.

The Kings had a goal nullified when Eric Belanger (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=2471) redirected Aaron Miller (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=895)'s long slap into the net with a high stick at 9:02 of the first period. But they opened the scoring just 10 seconds before intermission, as Cammalleri converted a rebound of defenseman Lubomir Visovsky's one-timer during a 5-on-3 power play. Ducks defenseman Ruslan Salei (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=1461) was the second man sent to the penalty box, getting a delay-of-game infraction for clearing the puck over the glass 28 seconds after a hooking call against teammate Joe DiPenta.

The Ducks got bogged down by penalties again in the second period, as Kip Brennan (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=2670) got four minutes for cutting Tim Gleason (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=2859) in the face with a high stick as the Kings' defenseman carried the puck over the red line. Bryzgalov robbed Robitaille at the end of a 2-on-1 rush with Frolov on the ensuing power play, which became a two-man advantage for 67 seconds when Anaheim's Joffrey Lupul (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=3110) was sent off for hooking.

Bryzgalov came up big again, stopping Dustin Brown (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=3351) after he intercepted Keith Carney (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=614)'s clearing pass in the neutral zone and swooped in alone on the Ducks' goalie. But Robitaille made it 2-0 at 16:59 of the second, deflecting Joe Corvo (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=2752)'s one-timer over Bryzgalov's left shoulder for his 657th career goal and 546th with the Kings. Robitaille is four shy of Marcel Dionne's club record.
