Thrashers Recall Center Jim Slater from Chicago Wolves (AHL)
ATLANTA (Oct. 22, 2005) -- The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled center Jim Slater from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell. The team’s active roster now stands at 22, with an additional three players on Injured Reserve (see attached list).
Slater, 22, made his NHL debut in the season-opener at Florida on Oct. 5, and was reassigned to the Wolves on Oct. 6. He shares fourth on the Wolves with two points (one goal, one assist) in four games.
The 6-0, 195-pound center earned 172 points (64 goals, 108 assists) and 144 penalty minutes in 157 games during a four-year career at Michigan State (CCHA) from 2001-05. The native of Petosky, Mich., was selected in the first round, 30th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
