Anaheim Claims Forward Chris Kunitz Off Waivers from Atlanta
Atlanta, GA (Oct. 18, 2005) --Anaheim has claimed forward Chris Kunitz off waivers, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell. The team's active roster now stands at 21, with an additional three players on Injured Reserve.
Kunitz, 26, appeared in two games with Atlanta after being claimed from Anaheim on Oct. 4, 2005. The 26-year old left wing appeared in 54 games with Cincinnati of the AHL last season, recording 22 goals and 17 assists for 39 points. The 6-0, 200-pound native of Regina, Saskatchewan, appeared in 21 NHL games with Anaheim during the 2003-04 season, registering six assists. Kunitz, who played four seasons at Ferris State University, signed with the Mighty Ducks as a free agent on April 1, 2003.
