Because... Come on... What would a Timberwolves board without one of these?

I suppose to start, I'll list the possible trades we've seen for Wally since this became the trend of the offseason.

1] Trade to Cleveland for Rickey Davis
2] Trade to Chicago for... Marcus Fizer/Jamal Crawford?
3] Trade to Portland for Shareef Abdur-Rahim

The last is the most recent, and it appears that one probably won't happen. So for those of you wanting to pawn off Wally to another team, you've got a home.

Wasn't Ricky Davis traded to the Celtics?

He was, but that was a trade possibility a few years ago. The only one I've heard about this year is the one with the Trail Blazers.

Oh, I misread you.

Wally spent most of last season on the IL, didn't he?

Correct. He came on strong at the end of the season and the playoffs. I think he missed 45-50 games last year.

I just heard one goofy rumor on the radio a couple days ago that Jason Kidd was forcing a trade to Minnesota and the t-wolves were trying to make it happen. It supposedly floated around for a couple days but one of ESPN Radio's announcers said that he didn't think there was any truth to it. He pointed to the fact that the t-wolves have Cassell and Hudson and that Kidd is a headcase.

I remember hearing that rumor as well, and I don't think there's much to that one anyway for the reasons you just mentioned.

Trading Wally just doesn't make sense to me. You're not going to get equal value in return for him with his contract.

True, but are we getting equal value from Wally for the money we're paying him?

Sounds like its becoming more of a possibility, but then again................

Just heard a rumor on PA & Dubay this morning, don't know how credible it is. The basic result for the Wolves is:

Wolves trade Wally, Sam, and Ervin Johnson
Wolves receive Jason Kidd and Kurt Thomas

Red

I heard it there as well, but near the end of the show they said Thomas wouldn't come to MN.

I heard the same thing. I guess there are conflicting reports regarding where Kurt Thomas would end up going.

i love p.a. and dubay's show...but i hope they're dead wrong. kidd doesn't work as well in our offense as sammy. it was great seeing k.g. getting the ball down low, getting double teamed, and then being able to kick it out to someone who could hit a shot from 18-20 like sammy did. wally could hit said shot but you have to be on the court. portland is obviously another western conference team...but even so, send kidd there, we don't need him.

only thing that does concern me is sam i am's hip. supposedly 100% after surgery, but at his age, we'll find out. hopefully nothing chronic.

ugh...just stumbled upon this...

obviously rumors fly around all the time but the word 'several' always warrants a little attention.

from rotoworld:
'Citing 'several NBA sources', the Journal News reports that the Timberwolves are trying to obtain Jason Kidd.
The three-way scenario would involve the Knicks. The report claims the Wolves would send Sam Cassell and Ervin Johnson to the Nets, and Wally Szczerbiak to the Knicks. New York's Kurt Thomas would also head to New Jersey, while Aaron Williams would end up in New York. Confused? So are we. A deal this big remains a longshot.' today, 1:01pm ct.

btw, i was going to post the link on here. is that ok? or is that frowned upon? still new here.

I love Kidd's ability but he is supposed to be a head-case who demands full control of the team he plays for. That won't fly on this team. The 'Wolves are KG's team and nobody else's. It will be interesting to see if he's willing to play second fiddle like Sam and Spree were.

Wasn't that the reason they got rid of Marbury?

This is a great site for all sports information. My gift to the boards:

This link is direct to the T-Wolves however.

yah, kidd for SAR. the nets know there is interest so i'm sure they won't make a deal with the blazers without doing a little more window shopping. i'm not positive, but i would think the nets were glad to get that kidd to the blazers rumor out there...now teams serious in kidd might up their offers. that being said, i would much prefer wally and sam over kidd.

yup. i was so pissed when they traded ray allen for marbury on draft day. allen was my favorite player in the entire draft. but, as kornheiser would say, marbury was kg's boy. that sure lasted long... their egos were actually too similar imo.

just a bit more on that draft...13/14/15...kobe, peja, nash. oops.

wally will be here...and if kidd does go anywhere, for now, it looks to be jailbirds

Yeah. From what I've seen as far as Kidd, if any trade happens, it'll be to the Blazers for Shareef Abdur-Rahim.

wow...this board has been dead as of late so i'll throw down the latest news on 'z'.

Isiah is finding that Kurt's four-year contract extension makes him less attractive. There have been talks with Minnesota about Wally Szczerbiak. Thomas has five years left on his pact.

"They're actively trying," one GM said. "Part of the problem is that extension."

I hope we don't trade Wally or anyone else for that matter this team is fine the way it is we just need more rebounding and shot blocking from Kandy I hope he will improves.

Kandi's the big "IF" as far as I'm concerned. He has to prove that he can stay healthy, settle into the game plan and perform up to his advertised capabilities. I'll cut him some slack for a couple months but that's about all. Same with WallyWorld. I've always loved his shot and intensity - I've just never been convinced that his type of play mixes well with the rest of the team. I'd rather be wrong than right about him.

If by mid-season he isn't proving out, I say trade him for future inventory at the concession stands. Or a knee brace. Or a case of beer. Take yer pick.
