Me neither. All he said was what we were thinking. Don't blame him at all.
Uh, he also kinda slapped the fans in the face on his way out, that's why some people hate him....but he played hard for us, I just wish our management didn't blow so much.

Well, it is a great baseball town and they never say anything bad about their team. They pay to win and everything....heavan may be a strong term for it, but it's a great environment. The players rave about it....I don't know that would be taken personally regarding Philadelphia....different towns

Exactly. Just because he thinks St. Louis is heaven doesn't disrespect Philly. I moved from Jacksonville to San Diego, and think SD is heaven. Doesn't mean I don't like Florida. Marlon just ripped one off the wall.

Rolen put the life into this team. He's POTG for this game and MVP of the series is tough but most likely Pujols if the Cards hang on.

I guess it was for the best because he has flourished into the dominant player he is today in "heaven". But the way I look at it is that some players aren't thick skinned enough to take the critique they get when they are in a market like Philly or New York, where the fans and media will get on you when you through a slump. He enjoys a good pat on the back from the town and just never having to hear about anything negative. I don't think I could be a fan like that, but as was previously stated, to each his own.

He also might be the biggest cheater this side of Sammy Sosa. Throwing at peoples heads, pine tar(or whatever it was) on his hat. Dispicable.

Clap Clap Clap....if you suck, I'm not going to cheer you on to get better, thats not my job. But he did play his ass off, I would have never said a bad word about him. I never doubted Rolen when he was on the field, he gave his all whenever he was playing, no doubt. My question about him when he was here is whether or not it was him or Francona that decided he should have every Sunday off and things like that, we will never know what it was. Wheteher Francona decided since he was the best player (excluding Schilling) to give him off once a week, or if Rolen decided that since the team wasn't going anywhere that he wasn't going to play every day. Either way I like Rolen the player, he is a great 3rd baseman and swings the bat very well. He had a great season and I continue to wish him well and wish he would have stayed in the red pinstripes.

My original picks had St. Louis beating the Sox in the series, so I am not changing my mind now. Besides, who knows what the Sox have left that can pitch; Schilling pitched a great game on a bum ankle, but I don't know if even he can do that again unless he gets some time to heal that ankle. And now Francona will have to actually manage with pitchers hitting for themselves, and LaRussa is a great manager.

The no stride swings of Pujols and Edmonds are ideal for use against a knuckleballer. I imagine Cody McKay will be pitching batting practice. Look for Wakefield to get bombed.
The Cardinals have done ok against Schilling in the past, i think they can adjust to the change of styles.

This series is a great matchup, Sox Pitching vs. the great St. Louis lineup. Cardinals Pen is better then the Yankees pen as far as matchups.

I just think with a team that is supposed to be on the brink of being a competitor like we are needs someone with management experience, which Pendleton doesn't have. I believe I read in yesterday's Inquirer that Manual was still one of the front runners for the position (behind Grady Little and in front of Fregosi, I think); that was until they announced Leyland, who instantly became the front runner. Leyland has said that he knows that he wants to be back behind the bench, now that he has been away for 5 years he misses it and the fire still burns. The thing that has me worried is actually Colorado; the WIP morning idiot reported that the Rockies hold his rights, since he retired with 2 years left on his contract, and they said that they were not contacted to seek permission to interview Leyland, not to mention what kind of compensation they were seeking.
I guess this (my ramblings) should be moved to the new manager thread, sorry.
