Wow man, that has to be some depressing news for such a hard competitor.

Raiders | Specialist Tells Gannon His Career is Likely Over - from www.KFFL.com (http://www.kffl.com/)
Sun, 17 Oct 2004 16:57:28 -0700

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Oakland Raiders QB Rich Gannon (neck) recently made a fourth visit to a specialist for his neck injury. According to sources, the visit ended with the doctor telling Gannon his career is likely over. Gannon suffered a fractured vertebra at the base of his neck in a helmet-to-helmet collision back in Week 3.

He was 100% better tonight, and I think Francona took him out knowing he might need him in Game 7. They are going to be on Gas if they can get to a Game 7 but I cannot believe it, they have starred down Rivera twice in the late innings and won them both when they had no other choice.

The Red Sox are the one team that's always had Rivera's number - at least as much as you can have his number.

Why can't I shake the feeling that we're just building up for a more agonizing way for the Red Sox to lose?

I'm willing to bet Foulke could come in tommorrow for an inning before Rivera could due to the type of pitcher he is.... At this point niether team has any other options, Advantage Hitters.

Schilling and Lieber are the rested ones here, Lieber is on extra rest, Schilling is on six days rest and he only threw like 53 pitches in his last start.

That is the first call in the Sox favor all series. It was the correct call, but everything has gone the Yanks way so far.

Are you trying to imply Francona might have done the right thing for once in his life?

Oh, that wasn't the right thing. I thought it was kind of like Labor Day, where you don't work. I get confused some times.

Foul Ball.

Btw, since we are in a break I heard today that CBS is announcing intentions to go after MLB after FOX's contract is up....can I just say I hope this fails big time. Jim Nance for the Super Bowl, NCAA Championship and World Series, I think I just may not watch anymore sports my entire life if this goes down.

My friends and I had a big discussion about this last night and we all agree CBS has the absolute worst broadcasts for all sports. ABC and Fox turn out really well and NBC does a decent job with the little bits that they get, but CBS just seems to use inferior equipment or something. They don't even broadcast their NFL games in HD any more. Comcast is broadcasting tonights preseason Sixers game in HD. Something isn't right over there.

NBC doesn't have jack as far as major Sports and I would still put them far and beyond what CBS does every week. CBS is the toilet of the major networks and who would have thought that 10 years ago with FOX being in the mix...

Well, NBC does have the NHL now..wonder how that's working out..?
