I really wish Houston wouldn't give Atlanta a pulse in this game. The other night I left the house in the 7th with Minnesota up 5-1, and I think we all know what I found out after I came back from dinner and some cards.

DaveBrownisgod
10-11-2004, 09:55 PM
Braves fans want to get rid of Cox, maybe we can hire him, LOL.
I am sure Leo Mazzone has a huge part of the success, but I am beginning to believe you could pick a group of us off of this board and he could find a way to get us in to the playoffs.

For anyone watching the game, the announcer just said as of this morning thew had 23,000 seats remaining available for this game. Does anyone else find that embarassing, granted this team hasn't won much in the playoffs, but how does a perennial playoff team have that many seats available in the final game in a playoff series? I just don't get it, you would never see that with any team in Philly.

Hey Look Its Chase Utley!

Believe me, it hurt to pick them.

I do have them crashing and burning against Boston though.

Schilling vs. Mussina in Games 1, 4, and 7 is laughable. A gigantic big-game pitcher against a classic big-game wilter.

You beat me to the comment on the game. Philly really wants a winner, we had one set up for Smarty Jones, then he pulled a Philly. So since Hopkins has set a record for title defenses he ended up with a parade courtesy of Joe Frazier and someone else whose name is skipping my mind.

And at that point the Flyers had won only a few years earlier, it is a scary thought.

I'd actually love to see Shef rip Pedro in half. Pedro has been a great pitcher, but I think he's such a punk. It really ticked me off when Vlad had like 9 RBI's against him earlier this year(on 2 homers and some doubles or something). Well, then Pedro strikes him out and stares him down. HA! Vlad just laughed at him. Too bad Ortiz and Varitek would beat the hell outta Shef before he made it there.

Man, you have to tip your hat to Mariano Rivera and Lieber. Lieber was unbelieveable tonight and Rivera was his usual self. Lieber proved you dont have to be a power pitcher to shut down a high powered offense. What can you say about the Astros/Cards? Beltran is looking better and more expensive by the game, but the Cards O is too much.

Dude, Garner screwed all of this up...should have started Munro in Game 4 vs. th Braves, he might have won that game, and if he didn't he would have had Clemens on normal rest for game 5 and they probably would win it anyway. Leaving Roy Oswalt to start Game 1 of the NLCS on normal rest.

Instead he throws a hot pitcher in Backe out there on 3 Days rest, this guy is worse then Grady Little.

And JRoll, our payroll would be 150 Mil if we did that, stop dreaming.

If the Phils could get Beltran and Varitek, I would personally drive down to Philly and organize a parade for Ed Wade, LOL.

I thought people were going to do that last year when he made the trade for Wagner?

Hey guys, the Mets just hired Gibson to be their manager...And Dykstra is coming with him..

Correction, thread title was misleading--He's a candidate, but Nails has been hired.

I agree. To take away both Clemens and Oswalt for game 1 was stupid. You need one of them out there. By the time they get to Clemens, the series is going to be half over with. You need to win one on the road, so you send out Clemens in game 1, simple as that.

Eh, I'd say at least 20, our payroll could be up near 100 MiL anyway, so it would be around 120 maybe...

Man, you have to tip your hat to Mariano Rivera and Lieber. Lieber was unbelieveable tonight and Rivera was his usual self. Lieber proved you dont have to be a power pitcher to shut down a high powered offense. What can you say about the Astros/Cards? And you have to tip your helmet to Olerud for his HR.

Anyone know why he wears a batting helmet in the field too?

Yeah, when he was playing college ball at Washington State, he was either hit by a line drive or a bat or something like that. Anyway, he had a brain hemmorhage(? correct my spelling please) and it required surgery.

No HBO at school...I do miss Inside the NFL, just for Kalas and the highlights, I could care less what all of those clowns have to say every week.
