Yay or Nay??
He's light, about 255 or so, with some injury history. I'd say he's worth it for league minimum, and if you blow 25k on a signing bonus, it's worth it to see if he has anything left. I'd rather get him in camp now than wait a couple weeks.
What the hay, eh?

yay,
any help would be appreciated on our D-Line.... and you never know what youll get, just look at grady. No one thought he would do all the things he did late last season. Anything that could possibly help us make a push deep into the playoffs without causing a huge cap dilemma is worth the risk

Oh yeah, Definitely worth it at the league minimum.

I say yah. Hell, we've done worse or just as bad if he goes down. League Min. though.

What about him taking time away from some of the younger players?? He's going to need his reps, too...do we sacrifice the development of young players in order to check out a guy that may or may not be over the hill?

i say the man needs a contract to sign with the packers and hopefully we offer it to him. whats minimum anyway, it won't break us.

i'd much rather take a risk on a player that could help our push into the playoffs.... with bretts timespan shrinking, i dont think we have time for players to develop just yet. We need production this season.

The vet minimum is 660k but he wants more. His agent's waiting to see if a DE goes down somewhere else and would be willing to offer more. If that doesn't happen Sherman will use one more preseason game to get a look at some of the guys he has on the line before signing Holmes.

I agree with what was said earlier. I think that we need him on the field. Maybe the younger players can learn from the sidelines and during practices. If we are blowing some opponents out, we can put them in, or switch out Holmes for a play or 2 during a series to get them time.

I agree we don't need another JJ. The difference here is, if he is another JJ, it won't cost us near as much to cut him loose.
Salary cap forced us to hang on to JJ longer than we wanted to and we'll still be paying for him next year.
