Here's just one of thousands of stories about KC CHIEFS FANS:
http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/2005/07/09/chiefs_summer_vacation_with_quinton_caver__carlos_hall/
Boasting one of the largest and most loyal fan bases in the National Football League, the Kansas City Chiefs have sold out Arrowhead Stadium for 117-straight contests, a streak dating back to 1991. As a way of expressing gratitude to fans that aren’t within the metro area, the Chiefs decided to load up this special caravan and headed to Springfield to say thanks! After all, that area is home to the largest season ticket base outside of Kansas City.
So, as the bus pulled into Coyote’s Adobe Café, the players knew what to expect. Visiting and signing autographs, along with members of the Chiefs Cheerleaders squad, the players were set back by the support the community showed.
“This is the first time I’ve been to Springfield,” (Carlos) Hall noted. “I’ll tell you what, they love the Chiefs here. I was so impressed with the support everyone showed us throughout the day.”
Former colligate teammates while at Arkansas, Hall and Caver even noted a few Razorback fans in attendance.
“We are pretty close to the Arkansas boarder here,” Caver said. “This was almost like reliving college. The fans are great and so supportive here.”
As their stay in Springfield came to an end, Hall and Caver took time out to tour some of the special “Chiefs Tailgate R.V.’s” that fans had drove to the event. Boasting several custom-designed Red and Gold amenities, the owners couldn’t resist having the players autograph their treasured rides and take photos with them before they departed.
That's awesome.
That is debatable. It is widely known that GB fans rank right up there. Anyway, I think for the most part, original NFL teams that have stayed put have the best.

I think the Arizona Cardinals must have the greatest fans. They completely screwed over the city of St. Louis, they've never won a damn thing, yet some people still root for them.
Poor bastards.

You posted the link to partial season tickets and single game tickets right before you posted this. If the fans are so "great" "loyal" and "numerous", one'd think all the tickets would be sold out on a full season ticket basis.
As an outsider, it sounds like an attempt to steal fans from the Rams. Springfield is a border town between the markets. The Rams moving to St Louis and winning had to cost the Chiefs some fans, I know a couple.

Springfield is an hour so closer to KC then it is to STL.
Living in KC I notice first hand that the Cheifs fans are great fans. They are out there through thick and thin. Hell they havent won a playoff game in over a decade yet the fans still show up 4-5 hours before the game to tailgate and get things ready.
When 4 of my Cheifs buddies and I came up to GB for the KC game we were all shocked how many cheifs fans had made the trip. I thought I saw somewhere around 3000 had come from KC to see the game.
Ive been to plenty of Cheifs games and I can tell you they have some great fans. You would have to be to put up with all the crap Carl Peterson dishes out.

So they can lay claim to GREATEST PERIOD.?
It would be an argument to say they aren't the greatest in their own division.
Theres plenty of die hard Broncos fans, and lets not even talk about the Raiders.
I have alot of respect for Chiefs fans, and I think they are top 5 fans, but just because they have fans in a town 1 hour away isnt proving much.

1) LOL, ok, ok...the packers and Chiefs go hand-n-hand when you're talking about the best and the most loyal fans. I didn't mean any disrespect to you packer fans. :)
2) You posted the link to partial season tickets and single game tickets right before you posted this. If the fans are so "great" "loyal" and "numerous", one'd think all the tickets would be sold out on a full season ticket basis.
Arrowhead has just over 78,000 seats...Carl Peterson puts a cap on how many of those can be sold for season tickets. Last I checked the cap was around 65,000 seats that can be sold for season tickets...AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE 65,000 SEATS ARE SOLD-OUT TO SEASON TICKET HOLDERS. That leaves 12,000 or so seats left open for each remaining game...some of those tix are for the visiting team, but the majority are for those who like to buy single tickets to one or two games. And those 12,000 seats left over each game...the ENTIRE SEASON is sold out less than 1 hour after tickets go on sale to the public. 8_games X 12,000_seats = 96,000 seats sold out in LESS than 60 minutes.
The half-season tickets are simply and added bonus (and are taken from the 12,000) one can buy if they know they want to go to a certain 6 games (2 pre and 4 reg). People can buy these half-season tix right now, way before the single game tix go on sale.

I wasn't the one who brought up a town one hour away. However, the KC Chiefs have season ticket holders in EVERY SINGLE STATE. They have a graphic they put up dang near every nationaly televised game they play in. That is ALL 50. Alaska is very much over 1 hour away.

One final thought...
So if you think "Chiefs fans are top 5 fans" and in the same breath say "It would be an argument to say they aren't the greatest in their own division" by comparing us to the broncos and raiders fans...implies that the raiders, broncos, and Chiefs are all in the top 5 when it comes to their fans. Who are the other 2 teams fans in your top 5? Just curious. :)

I still think the Packers have the greatest fan base. I know just a couple years ago I got on the waiting list for season tickets and shit it will be 50 years down the line probably before I am able to get tickets.
As for the Chiefs, yeah they are alright, though they dont have the black hole like the raiders.
Also I have no clue why this guy got Quentin Caver and Carlos Hall to say something, they know that NW Arkansas is Chiefs, Central-South is Cowboys, and the NW is split amongest the Rams and Titans. They make it sound like a big deal when it isnt

Yeah, it's like that for Chiefs season tickets too. Carl Peterson opened up more seats a few years ago to accomidate the fans who had been on the waiting list for "too" long, but that won't happen anymore since their are only 12,000 "open" seats left. The Chiefs have had a 98.3% season ticket renewal rate on averge every year...the remaining percentage are those that sign their rights/tickets over to friends, family, or whomever they sold it to.
As for the Chiefs, yeah they are alright, though they dont have the black hole like the raiders.
What? The black hole is a joke. They coined that term in 2001 when they were in the midst of their 3 year playoff/Superbowl spurt. Did you see thier stadium last year? Not even half the seats were filled from day one. Raider fans only go the stadium when the team is winning.
Chiefs fans go to the game through thick-n-thin. Going to a game is more than just watching football. It's tailgating, interacting with fellow fans you've never met, heckling the opposing fans, interacting with the cheerleaders and mascots, going from BBQ to BBQ, seeing how everyone is dressed, admiring everybodys face paint, etc. If you're wearing read, you're in the midst one gigantic family.
As an outsider, it sounds like an attempt to steal fans from the Rams. Springfield is a border town between the markets. The Rams moving to St Louis and winning had to cost the Chiefs some fans, I know a couple.
Of course the rams cost the Chiefs some fans. SOME. Once they started winning they won over St. Louis and they have been all rams since 1999. But let me tell you something. Their is a MAJOR difference between ram fans and KC fans. MAJOR DIFFERENCE. (The obvious is the ram fans are recent superbowl winners and the Chiefs aren't, yadda yadda...I'll beat you all to the punch). I went to the rams-bears game in 1999...no tailgating, to excitement, and ABSOLUTLEY NO ENTHUSIASM. I know the seats are for sitting in...but come on! Stand up and cheer at least more than once a quarter! Dang, the only time that place got loud and/or on their feet was after the rams scored a TD. Which they did a lot that game winning 33-3 or something. That was the most boring game I have ever attended, honeslty.
Chiefs fans rarely use the seats. We stand and are yelling non-stop (except when our offense is on the field, then we're quiet) and only use the seats in between quarters and during timeouts. It's a total blast. Arrowhead is known for being the one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL, it not the loudest. Pretty good for an outside stadium.
You posted the link to partial season tickets and single game tickets right before you posted this. If the fans are so "great" "loyal" and "numerous", one'd think all the tickets would be sold out on a full season ticket basis.
BTW, the Chiefs have sold out EVERY GAME since 1991. That's 13 years and counting.

How could you not say the Chiefs have one of the best fan bases in all of football. Even when the Chiefs went through that horrid trend of losing for about 3 years Chiefs fans still put their butts in the seats. What other team has sold out 78+ thousand seats 117 games in a row? Even back to back Super Bowl teams havn't done that, and the Chiefs havn't seen a Super Bowl in 36 years. Go to Arrowhead on gameday. Get there around 6am and you will see tents and vans already being set up and people getting ready to party. All of this support without a playoff win in 10 years...... unheard of. If the Chiefs go to the Super Bowl watch out......

The best thing about the Arizona Cardinals is playing them away, late in the season.
No problems getting tickets. And the golf isn't too bad, either.
I don't mind the snow, but that's a very nice road trip.
I give the Chiefs' fans much credit and respect.
If they didn't think they were the best, I'd give them less credit and respect.
Reality notwithstanding, of course.

Almost as worthless as arguing about the best team in the NFC last year.
According to what I've read about the upcoming season, it was either the Vikings, or Panthers.

I don't know about that. Arguing about the best team is somewhat objective, whereas greatest fans is purely subjective. Basing it on how many people show up before a game to party...in that case, LSU Tiger fans have the greatest fans in the world. They sell out 91000 seats every home game and have at least 10000 more than that show up just to tailgate. Woooooooo!
Hmmm...possibly the fans are the greatest "looking for a reason to eat and get drunk" fans...but I don't know about football fans.
With that, I'd like to say I think the Chiefs have very good fans. VERY good. But, it's like the argument of who has the better offensive line. For awhile, KC and GB fans would argue to the death. It's a meaningless argument, to me. However, I guess I'll still argue over it...just for kicks, you know?

Yeah, Tennessee, Ohio State, Michigan, and 1 or 2 other stadiums (maybe PSU?) have a higher capacity than LSU...it's the 5th or 6th largest stadium in the nation...

:) Hey, it may be an irrelevent arguement, but teams with great fans take pride in being considered "great fans." GB, KC, CHI, and a couple others enjoy taking "fan-ism" to the extreme. :)
Also, I'm not basing it on "how many shows up before the game to party." Tailgaiting is just one aspect, and drinking beer is NOT on the list as to teams with great fans. Looking over the stadium and seeing the BBQ smoke rising and the thousands of people interating with one another...seeing all the cool contraptions that Chief fans come up with...seeing all the "Chiefs-mobiles" that people create. Their are tons of fans who made vehicels in to gameday vehicles. This is just one example. The amount of fans who stay AFTER the game to grill dinner and talk about the game and listen to the post-game radio show is also a ton of fun. Anyway...
