This poor kid is decidedly getting his baptism of fire this season. He gets shelled, he has a good game, he gets shellacked, up and down. Good experience, and the team is in good enough shape that it isn't hurting us. And with Escobar out for 8 weeks, this is a real trial for the kid. It will be interesting to see how he shapes up.

Hey, he finally won a day game! At least, it began during the day, even if it ended at night. An ERA of around 17 during day games, about 2.5 at night. I think the kid will stay.

He can come back to AA. The Angels dont have very good pitching here in AA Arkansas

Sorry, swami. With Escobar out for another 6 weeks, we're gonna need him out here. The Angels' pitching staff ranks with their best ever. And Ervin is going to be a star.

Ervin has some nasty stuff he is going to be a good pitcher.

Oh, he's going to be wicked. Imagine Frankie Rodriguez as a starter, and you've got young Santana.

On the other hand, those day games are just KILLING him, even against the plunging Orioles. But, hey, his last day game was pretty good, and he had won 2 out of three, and he is after all a rookie, so all things considered, it was the offense who also took the day off that cost him a victory. 8 runs like the two previous nights would have helped Ervin.

Young Ervin is set for tonight's game against the Jays. It's a night game, and he's been superlative at night. All he'll need is some run support. And he's going against Cahcin, who shut out the Angels the last time he faced us. Not tonight boys, I don't care WHAT Boik says.

Santana is having a great game against the As tonight: 6 shutout innings so far. And wouldn't you know: it's a night game.

He was studly last night. 8 1/3 shutout, thats impressive for a rookie. If our ptichers can pitch like they have this series, the divison is ours.

Alas, Escobar has supposedly made his last remedial start, and should be rejoining the Angels soon. I can't imagine sitting Santana the way he's been pitching. It took Escobar this long to return, let him sit out the season and really get healthy. Keep Esco and Santana when we let Washburn go at season's end.
