A near fight between Frank Robinson and Mike Scioscia
Donnelly got ejected before even throwing a pitch

He had pine tar on his glove and Robinson also accused him of having sand paper. After inspecting a ball he ellegedly was using to warmup, pine tar and a cut were found on the ball.

Scioscia tried to retaliate but having the Nats pitcher's gloves inspected in the next inning.

Benches cleared when Scioscia gave a verbal warning to Robinson on the field. "I told Frank that we were gonna undress his pitchers when they were out on the mound," Scioscia said. "He obviously wasn't happy."

That was a great game to watch...well the last 2+ innings of it anyway.

I turned it on right when they were inspecting Donnelly's glove...perfect timing.

I loved the way the players had Frank's back out there and Guillen's shot was incredible.

Well, Scoscia proves he's a cockbag here, eh?

Basically what he's saying is "We got caught cheating redhanded, so we're going to try to make the situation better by blaming you of cheating too, even though there's nothing to base it on other than my own pissed off feelings of being caught cheating."

First, I'm an Angels fan. Frank Robinson came up in a time when managers tried to get into the head of the opposing manager. Scioscia, who came up under Tommy Lasorda, should understand that. Frank was messing with Mike, and it worked. He got just what he wanted. The Angels had the chance to stick it to the Nats, and blew it. The Nats showed us whassup, and it's a damn shame Guillen was so instrumental in sticking it to us. It's too bad there won't be a rematch, except maybe in the postseason. I admired Frank as a player, and I think he's a good manager as well.

Lasorda wouldn't have stopped until he got thrown out.
