i'm transferring this thread to this board because i really want this board to work and the best way to do that is to get everyone's input.

i think that that will work but we need to figure out how to duplicate this stream of consciousness thing we have over here.

that board is so thread based and this board is more like a conversation. conversations ebb and flow, fluid and moving from place to place, back and forth, like sitting at a table with 15 people in a bar.

sometimes there is one primary topic, but there are always smaller couples or groups of people talking about something else and then re-entering the main conversation...

on the sports-board i don't see that happening and i'm not sure i know how to do it.

i see what you mean... almost a private convo of sorts.... I think this board will be great for anyone who posts on gamedays because there is a stickied "Gameday thread" instead of starting 1 million little threads on ESPN and listening to yukon, we can post here and give game opinions in peace. agee?

It's simply the format. It's easier to read every topic/post there because it's all linear, one right after the other. Here you have to go between posts in a forum.

There's nothing wrong with posting in both places. You don't have to replace one with the other. As I've said before, each place has its own redeeming qualities. Some people won't make the change, but I'll still want to talk to them, so I'll do it there. When there's a conversation here, I'll get involved. It will take awhile to build the crowds here. It's not going to be ESPNesque in just a couple of weeks...

i KNOW i'm being long winded and i'm sorry but i'm trying to figure this out, and help make S-B work so we can tell ESPN to go GTH !

It is a ton easier to post over here.... and i too will participate if theres a convo, even if theres no one on the board im always logged on. I will continue to post on espn, theres no reason not to post on both.

Why?? What has ESPN done besides try to upgrade to their new system and offer something for free?? No need to tell them to go to hell. What does that accomplish?? You've got a site you like, but I also see you posting at ESPN. I do the same, Sully does the same, MVP does the same, Luvda, etc, etc, etc. Please don't try to make it so that people have to choose between the two.

You're not cheating on S-B by visiting another board.

I notice you guys are getting into using different looking fonts. Do you want me to put an option on your profile that lets you set your own default font (If it's possible)?

That would be good, but I was really just messin' around ...

But for all the "painting with words" --- one could get pretty profficient with these "options" ...

Personally, barely have time to post on one board much less two. I used to post like a madman when I first started going to the ESPN boards a few years ago, but I can't get away with doing that anymore.

More power to the guys that can. :)

It's good to have a board where I don't have to sort through the crap to find the quality topics.

Sure. As long as people don't start using black as their default font color.

;)

Some people use the default style (Which is blue), so it'll be fine there. I've already given a heads-up that the font will show up differently on other styles.

If you don't change the font color, it'll show up fine on all boards.

Well, now I feel kind of dumb (watch the wise cracks ;) ) i didn't know what you were talking about until I started looking at the options. I much prefer the default style. I find it easier to read dark font on a light background.

Damnit LSU... I said no wisecracks.... LOL.

How's LSU looking for this year anyway? I haven't been able to keep up much with Georgia, but they were ranked pretty good, last I checked.

well, in one of the polls, UGA is #3 and LSU is #4, and in the other, I think it's flip flopped. They should be pretty good, assuming Randall can fill Mauck's shoes and be a manager. Sounds like Vincent is going to be tough, and if the Defense can play as well this year as last, all we need is a ball control offense.

Should be a good game when they play. I see it's scheduled for Oct. 2nd.

Looking forward to it.

ESPN had a decent board until they decide to cut cost and go with the dollar store type forum. Ya Figure a site like ESPN would actually pay someone to put a site together thats better then the old one and actually WORKS at least 30 percent of the time unlike ESPN where it maybe works right 10 percent of the time if that.
