I've heard stories of Shaq doing that (Paying for some side action). I can't remember the exact details of the one I was told, but he was basically trying to get some woman to come up and spend the night with him, and she didn't really want to. She said that she had to go to work in the morning, and he replied with "Well I'll put you on my payroll."

The claims against Shaq are on the words of a someone after the tape recorder was turned off so there's no proof anything was said and the apparent words were spoken by a man who is basically Shaq's enemy. The words of someone said against someone else who they're feuding against and have been for a long time aren't exactly the most credible. Especially since that guy (Kobe) is known for lying before (If the cops come to your door and ask if you've had sex with a certain person chances are they wouldn't ask unless they have physical evidence that you did it it not smart to deny it. Not smart Kobe)

Also if someone was raped (is that what was implied or just consenual sex that Shaq didn't want leaked?) and is willing to accept money to keep quiet chances are they would also go public for more money which would be the case if it went to trial and an offer of money is an admittance of guilt.

I highly doubt Shaq raped anyone.

I don't know when these alleged payoffs occured but I'm assuming they happened before Shaq got married (December of 2002) because after marriage that would leave like 6 months between the marriage and Kobe's ordeal.

To shed some light on the situation. I do have some info. Through business relationships and various contacts I'm pretty well tied in to pro athletes in the L.A. area.

1. The statement about Shaq has to do with how he operates. He never goes up to the women on his own. He's got 3 or 4 of his boys who's only job is to go out, find women and get them to a location that he is at.(Does this to keep it out of the media).

2. I've had many conversations with pros and former pros where the topic has come up about how often they have to pay women off just so they don't have to deal with the headache Kobe went through.
One of them who's intials are E.D., said its always the white girls who are out are the bucks. Don't know why that is but with recent events it makes you think.
Does this mean Shaq has paid anyone off no but it does have a high probability to it.

3. Its easy to sit back and condem athletes for their cheating but none of us can say that we get first class poontang thrown at us everyday,everywhere we go. It doesn't matter how hot their wives are either.
I know of an old high school friend who hooked up with David Justice while he was playing for AtT and married to Halle Berry.

Have the time its not even about the sex for these players, Its more about feeding that ego.
