Ok I know I'm confused, so I think others may be too.

Ive talked to LSU and heres what my understanding is.

Your going to play 2 games with one lineup, so you need to consider bye weeks.

Here are the bye teams for weeks 5-8

Week 5 - Chicago, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Philadelphia
Week 6 - Arizona, Baltimore, Indianapolis, N.Y. Giants
Week 7 - Houston, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Washington
Week 8 - Cleveland, New Orleans, St. Louis, Tampa Bay

Now lets assume you have

Mcnabb

If you dont start Donovan because he has a NFL bye in week 5 you will be benching him for 2 FF games. My understanding - pending correction- is this. You should bench Donovan because if you dont your going to get "0" pts for him for 2 FF weeks not just the week he has the bye. In essence, all you need to do is make sure your not playing guys who have a bye.

It does suck in that rather than having one of your good guys not play for a single game, he , they wont be playing for 2 games..but it sucks equally for all of us

All we really need to do is pick your best team minus the guys who have byes and hope for the best.

If I said anything wrong her MOD please correct me.

Players with a bye will get no points that week, so you play someone that doesn't have a bye in their place. Culpepper has a bye in week 4, so he will receive no points in week 4, so it's best if you start a different QB. In weeks 5-8, I believe, each team will play 2 games with their lineup. This allows for a complete 16 game schedule. In weeks 5-8, it will be possible for you to go 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2 each week, so it's a crucial time to have your best lineups in.

bryan i think your getting it wrong !
week 5 of nfl is week 5 and 6 of fantasy maybe this example will help
your fantasy starters week 5 got 160 total points
you vs. tom jones week 5 of fantasy
you vs. john smith week 6 fantasy
tom scores 140 (from nfl week #5)
john scores 160 (from nfl week #5)
then you would be a winner in fantasy week #5 (140-150)
and a loser in fantasy week #6 (150-160)
then in week #6 of nfl, you play your fantasy matchups of weeks 7 and 8
does that make sense for you?

Whoa, my head is still spinning.

So when I submit my lineup for next week it will be for two fantasy games?

NFL Week #5 = Fantasy Weeks #5 & 6
NFL Week #6 = Fantasy Weeks #7 & 8
NFL Week #7 = Fantasy Weeks #9 & 10
NFL Week #8 = Fantasy Weeks #11 & 12

Let's use McNabb again as a reference (also on my team). He has a bye week next week (NFL Week #5) so I will be without him just one week but for two fantasy weeks (#5 & 6) but them have him back NFL Week #6 for Fantasy Weeks #7 & 8.

I am not sure I understand this at all. I mean when I look at the Grant conf schedule I only see one game per week. I don't get where the multiple comes from?

Those games don't correspond to NFL weeks.

Moochpuppy has it right in his post.

the fantasy league is set up as a 16 game schedule, but in order to have full playoffs, we have to have multiple games for a couple weeks, so in weeks 5-8 of the NFL schedule, you'll have 2 games per week, games 5-12 of the fantasy league. So you submit ONE lineup, but that lineup will go against 2 other teams.

The thing is to realize that the FF schedule is not on the same timeline as the NFL schedule. Week 5 in the NFL is week 5 and 6 of FF, week 6 of NFL is week 7 and 8 of FF, and so on.

And while I'm here... You live in Stillwater, mooch?

Talk about coincidences, I have to drop a kid off there, today. You probably live about 30-40 minutes away from me if that's the case (You living in Stillwater).

I've lived in Brooklyn Center, Edina and now Stillwater (work in Wayzata). Been in Stillwater now for the past 18 months. Very cool town. We live less than a mile from downtown on the South hill. Makes it great to visit the local watering holes and be able to stumble (walk) home. We bought an old Victorian that we've been fixing up.

BTW, have you ever been to Alary's in downtown St. Paul? It's a Chicago Bears bar.
