Looks like the Angels are starting to get their offense going. This is also without Vlad. Last nights come back in the ninth inning and then winning it in the 10th was awesome. But tonight they are making a statement by already scoring 13 runs in 7 innings. I know it is against the Royals but they are still pro athletes. If this offense keeps it up (like it should) and the pitching stays hot I think they will take off in the west and win it. Texas has been good but their pitching is going to cool down eventually.

Watch out for the Angels, they will get Vlad and K-Rod back and dominate.

Key point is that it was the Royals, that game didn't show much. Except that the Angels could win a game against a AAA team.

No Reilly's got it right. Tha Angels are starting to put it all together. Their pitching is better than it has been in years, maybe ever, although that's not necessarily saying a lot in and of itself. But their ERA is among the tops in the league. Their offense will put it together and Vlad will only make it better. We're in first place and haven't even hit our stride yet. Finley is finally starting to hit nearly his weight.

Well, I thought we were starting to click. Then we ran into the White Sox again, and they schooled us. Now we've got Boston coming up, and it's time to knuckle down. C'mon, Vlad, we need you.

I don't want to sound cocky, but I think the Angels have the west locked up.

Well,

Weaver signed and he better pan out. The Angels are starting to hit more and you gotta love Erstad reverting back to the days when he was a punter for the Nebraska football team. He holds the school record for most tackles by a punter and he made Tom Osborne's top ten list of favorite players he ever coached.

Keep it going boys!

I have a bad feeling about weaver. I'm not sure why, but I generally dislike people associated with the devil.

I hear you. He's got such an effect on the league that some players were passed on by teams in the draft because of it. I've never seen an agent have such a stronghold over the league like this. Amazing!

It's getting pretty bad, but I don't know what the league can do about it. They can't just ban him, can they? I think the only end will be when the players get sick of him. Teams will just have to stop dealing with him.

They can try to blackball him but he's got so many talented players as clients that its too hard to get all the teams to agree to not dealing with him.

It looks like the Angels went local today. Several Cali players taken including a couple SS. Not much info on the players though but I'm sure we'll hear about them later. Hell we've already got the best minor league system in baseball according to Baseball America but it doesn't hurt to replenish it.

I've been looking for a list of players drafted, but I can only find the first round. I've been looking for info about this Trevor Bell guy, but I can't find any. Hes not on the top 200 prospects, but that doesn't really matter.

cbs sportsline has a decent list of the players picked but no real info on them. They took another young catcher too. Reality is we'll probably never see these players anyway. They're still along way from the pros.

That really is the problem with the MLB draft. No immediate impact=no one really cares. Plus, the draft really is hit or miss. In the NFL, you'll know about the number one pick for a couple of years, even if he sucks and ends up as a bust (ala Ryan Leaf, although he was a number 2). In this draft, if the number 1 player ends up sucking, he just fizzles. Unfortuantly, I don't see anyway for this to change. So let the boring ass drafts continue. I'll just stick with watching the games.
