What gives with Steve Finley? Sure he traditionally has a slow April, but an equally slow May? Something's gotta give. He's got to get that smooth stroke back. Come on Steve! Earn that paycheck!

I've become disappointed with Finley recently. I was really happy when we signed him, but in that last game, when he popped out when all he had to do was get it in the outfield for a score... It was bad. I mean, even a double play would have gotten a run! Hopefully he'll get it back together.

Consider this: he's only hitting .233, but he's got 37 rbi. That doesn't lead the league, but it's not bad...for a .233 hitter. Imagine if he were hitting his career. .276

Allright! That last game must have given Finley a nice boost! Let's hope he can keep it up.

I'm more concerned about his fielding. He seems to be coming up short on a lot of fly balls, and evidently doesn't like to dive. Is this the result of age? I personally haven't dived for a fly ball since I was about 34, but had no aversion to it then. Steve's a little older, but he's paid to do it. I did it for free. It just looks like he's just slightly misjudging the ball.

Well, as the left fielder on my HS baseball team, I can understand not wanting to dive. However, he is getting payed for it, but I think age has something to do with it.
