Ok Heres what were lookin at....

if things stay the same and malone comes back

this is what I see

heres are roster we can only have 12 w/ 3 on IR (15 total) we have 18!!!

Chucky Atkins
Tony Bobbitt
Sasha Vujacic
Nate Johnson
Kobe Bryant
Kareem Rush
Caron Butler
Luke Walton
Jumaine Jones
Devean George
Lamar Odom
Brian Cook
Marcus Douthit
Chris Mihm
Stanislva Medvedenko
Karl Malone
Vlade Divac
Brian Grant

I think it should go like this( I did it this way cause I’m a cook fan for what ever reason :) but I know most would pick Denko and put cook on IR) this might also change if vlade really does miss a month or more?

PG- Atkins, Sasha
SG- Kobe, Rush
SF- Odom, Butler, Walton
PF- Malone, Grant, Cook (add Medvedenko if no malone)
C- Vlade, Mihm

IR
Medvedenko (subtract and add Douthit if no malone)
Jones
George

OUT
Tony Bobbitt
Marcus Douthit
Nate Johnson

I agree with most of that, except for the Slava thing, but that is likely moot, with Vlade's injury.

Beyond that I think Slava may have a chance to excel in a more uptempo scheme.

Its very possible?!?!
ITs mensa fault Ilike Cook and want to give him a chance A REPOST OF INFO:

"Cook- a big ten top player (no easy feat), he was hurt, give him some more time. Also he wasU. Of Illinois ALL-TIME leading scorer… he needs 10-15lbs of weight, work on his d and rebounding and he can be our golden ticket, especially if malone doesn’t come back…. The opportunity is knocking will he answer.. can you imagine a another scoring option? He can do it will he."

I like Cook too, (I may be biased, since I am from the Big Ten), we need to keep as many bigs active as possilbe!

I think bigs are more a problem than point guard.

I AGREE, if we rotate our pgs and let them fight it out its fine with me if the big men step up there d and REBOUNDS we'll be fine its still to early but I'm guessing 40 to 50 wins

I'll go with 52-30.

I think Odom will have a nice season.

Like I posted before:

This is assuming the Walton and Banks deal goes through and Vlade starts off on the injuried list.

PG - Banks, Atkins, Sasha
SG - Kobe, Rush
SF - Odom, Butler
PF - Malone, Medevenko, Cook
C - Mihm, Grant

IR - Jones, Bobbitt, Vlade

Out - Johnson, Stewart
Douthit was picked up by a team from the CBA. Lakers still retain his rights though.

This team can surprise a lot of teams. I don't see us any worst off than say the Mavs. The team still needs a little tweaking, but the trades Mitch has done has left enough financial freedom in the future to make moves.

I THINK IT WILL BE GREAT!!!! to pull off 52!!!!

I just think we haven't olayed one game yet, we might ot have chemistry and Kobe has to change his style...

not to mention everybody HATES US people are going to be gunning for us..

People might underrate us but players won't their going to want to PUNISH the lakers

Who's all in the Lakers new aligned division?

How many games do the lakers play each of them?

Under the new plan, teams will play divisional opponents four times each (two home games/two road games), conference opponents outside the division three or four times each and opponents outside the conference two times each (one home game/one road game). The three regular season divisional winners in each conference will earn a playoff berth and one of the conference’s top three playoff seeds based on regular season record. The remaining five playoff berths for each conference will be based on regular season records with no regard to divisional alignment. Home court advantage throughout the NBA playoffs will be based solely on regular season record, not playoff seeding, thus a divisional winner that has a higher playoff seed than an opponent will not necessarily have home court advantage in the playoff series.

Pacific Division:

Sacramento Kings
Los Angeles Lakers
Phoenix Suns
Los Angeles Clippers
Golden State Warriors

I think the Lakers are working on that right now. Kobe called up all the Laker players and they were starting informal workouts with the coaching staff in El Segundo about 2 weeks ago. This shows that Kobe is ready to take over the leadership role and it's a good start for the guy's to start working on chemistry.

Truthtella2:

The other teams in the Pacific are:

Clippers, Kings, Warriors, and the Suns.

I think we play each one of them 4 games like normal. Seems like the true competition in that division will be the Kings and Suns. If they can win more games than these two teams, the Lakers can get the 3rd seed. Now that's too optimistic, but a possibility nonetheless. I think the Lakers are a 6th seed realistically.

should be ahead of the suns. The kings are falling, but they could put up a decent regular season before the usual stomping in the playoffs.

6th seed would be fine because then the Lakers would play the winner of the division and if it's the kings.......

I did hear that about Kobe, I hope he keeps it up, I want him to prove me wrong sooooo bad :)
It doesn't mean he is ready to LEAD yet though, he has to change HIS play style not just improve his ablities and everybody elses

HE CAN EASILY CHANGE...but will he

I hope to god he does!!!!!
Great talent Super potential

GO LAKERS GO KOBE!!!

I think a lot of people underestimate Kobe. The Lakers would not have won those 3 titles if he was indeed as selfish as reporters make him out to be. Sure there was the fighting with Shaq, but all in all, Kobe did hold back his game and he was always there when the team needed him... well, mostly anyway before the accusations. He did, however, go off for those games with 40+ points and that's when everyone realized he had outgrown his previous role. Of course, the way he plays this season might be different. Hopefully, it's positive and he does great things.

Well I do think he is selfish but not NEARLY as much as the haters do and SOME of the media..

I can easliy see kobes potential and thats why he upsets me at times I think he is currently falling short..

hey maybe its me, maybe its unfair for me to think of his potential as so high, maybe its those little kids calling him MJ all the time or maybe I should just except him for who he is :)

anyway I still feel the same

GO LAKERS GO KOBE!!!!
