While he might be a lefty he is not a tuff lefty from what I have seen from him this year. We should score early and often against him. Which means he will probably shut us out lol.

Good. I'm used to seeing the date of the thread so I didn't think this was it.

Ok guy & ladys: this is how Matt-Morris is tipping pitches.
Watch his glove hand. When he throws a fastball his glove hand goes out and down his side.
A curve ball or change up is glove hand toward batter.
Watch and see if the Reds pick up on this.
Pony.

I just came in. What were Duncan, LaRussa, and Morris yelling at each other about?

Looked like they were talking about the run that scored and Matt was complaining that he got the ground balls, but the defensive alignment let the guys get on anyway.

Womack's been making a lot of mental errors on the basepaths, recently. He isn't hitting well enough to afford them, either.

Well the defensive alignment wasn't going to help that hanging curve LaRue just doubled on.

Sanders doubles with 2 outs.
Is it too much to ask of Mike Matheny to hit a single and tie this game?
I don't believe it, they're walking Mike Matheny! Make them pay, Matt.

Only a weenie
Would ever walk Matheny
To get to Morris.

Matt Morris strikes out
His hitting must be about
Bad as his pitching.
The Tardis

Nice play by Scotty.
When it comes to barehanding,
Rolen is the best.

He has not pitched that bad today.

Pitching a good game
Seems to be a rare event
For Morris this year.

Is this haiku (which I know nothing about), or some new kind of California poetry (which I know nothing about)?

A perfect inning
And two Ks by Matt as well.
I can't believe it.

I like the # of k's. This is the Morris we know. His last three starts have been pretty good.

Albert will hit a home run here.
A 2 run homer.

While we're waiting for Albert to hit his home run, I thought I'd post the desperation quote of the day.
"We come here every day trying to do our jobs, and sometimes it's not going to be the way we want. But it doesn't mean we're not good players anymore or that the world is ending."

Someone else will have to jinx the Cardinals now, I've got to go to bed.
I've got to leave at 4 am and drive to a city. A city that has no redeeming qualities to me, except for the aforementioned Cardinal baseball team.

Tie Game! Edmonds comes through again! I may never go to bed!

Anderson hit that ball so hard that Edmonds couldn't score. Bases loaded for Mabry.

Tony Womack drives in the go ahead run with a walk.
There are no words.
Grand Slam Larry Walker makes it a laugher for the ninth.
Cubs lost today.

Walker just hit a grand slam.
Walt, you're a genius.
ryr8828
08-17-2004, 09:58 PM
A very quick bases loaded walk to Womack to take the lead, and an even quicker GRAND SLAM HOMER for Walker, and it's 7-2.
Base hit for Pujols, sorry Albert, no one on.

Who said Walker needs Coors?
The Tardis
08-17-2004, 10:06 PM
Keep in mind, the Cards already had the lead, so that was a "meaningless" grand slam.

Don't you love that everytime we lose one game we come back and have a very nice winning streak. Lets hope this lasts longer.
This team is AMAZING! Good job today Matty Mo.

Joe Buck said tonight that Walker got the very first standing ovation of his MLB life after the GS. That sure says something about Colorado and Montreal, doesn't it?
