Right now Sweeney is just about the only guy on this team who is hitting, but sweeney is the only one getting paid 11mil. I think right now is the best time to trade him.

I have to disagree tho. He as you said is the only guy hitting, and what do we have behind him Stairs, Harvy and Pickering. None of these guys are capable of driving in the runs for a team, plus Sweeney is the captain.

Don't forget we have Huber hitting .383 with six homers in AA

That's another thing about Harvy/Pickering they are taking Hubers well deserved spot in AAA. Huber should be at AAA soon or atleast up to the majors in September.

I'd like to see him in the outfield, we are complaining so much about not having a good COF, maybe Huber can fill that roll.

It's hard for a catcher to move to the outfield, but if he spends this year at AA and next year at AAA then it's worth a shot.

LOL
Seriously I think it's a matter of time before he gets hurt and I'd like to see it in something other than a Royals uniform.

I know he is going to get hurt but if he does we still have the DH spot for him. And like I said before no one else is capable of driving in the runs if he's gone.

Ive been saying to get rid of Sweeny for years. Sure he's having a decent hitting streak for the last few games but he's injury prone and obviously not to consistent. Dump him and the owner.

There is no way the Royals will be any good for atleast a few years. by than Sweeney won't be worth a damn. Trade him now. What the hell good does it do to keep him. He'll be done by the time the Royals are done.
I'm not a Royals fan, actually a die hard White Sox fan, but I hate to see a team do this poorly. It's too bad how these contracts have screwed the small market teams, like the Royals. It does not make it fair, or even close to fair.
Trade Sweeney and get some youth.

They arent going to be good years from now unless the start over and that means with a new owner. And IMO I dont see that happening.

Actually Baird has done quite well lately with trading crap for prospects. Look at what we got in Baustista.

And those great prospects, in 2-3 years, will be in NY, Boston or some other city that contend and pay them what they are worth. Ive seen it over and over and over in this town.
