1- Peja- Hits jump shots like others make lay-ins. Deceptively quick, and tall enough to get his shot off over most any backcourt defender. A flop in the playoffs.
2- Ray Allen- May have the prettiest shot in the NBA. 3 pointer, 10 footer, its all the same. We'll wait to see if injuries have slowed him.
3- Rip- A master at coming off screens, well get his regardless of the defense you play. Steps his game up a notch in close games/playoffs. Developing a 3-point shot, but not there yet.
4- Michael Redd- An assassin with a quick release. Took what some call the worst team in the league and made them a playoff team. Perfect for Mil. wide open style.
5- Brent Barry- Frightening when he's open, he has a knack for finding openings in the floor. May be best 3 point shooter in the league, his jumper on the run is good but not great.
6- Sam Cassell- I don't care how or why, dude shot .488 last year. Yeah, he had KG opening things up, but he was canning every look he got. If he can repeat that performance the wolves are among the favorites again.
7-Allan Houston- He's a lot slower than his best days, but if he has the ball in his hands it usually finds the bottom of the hoop. Great at spotting up, but does little else for team.
8- Kobe- Say what you will about his finals performance, just don't leave him open. He's hit as many big shots as anyone the past 5 years, and will presumably turn more to that nice jumper as he gets older.
9-Reggie Miller- 5 seconds on the clock, down by 2 points, you can pick one guy to take a shot for you. Be it now or any player in history, the answer is Reggie (sorry MJ). P.S.- dunk it next time Reg.
10- KHV- He's soft, inconsistent, and is maybe the biggest playoff ghost ever. That said he's got the best touch of any player 6' 10" and above in the league and as much as I don't like his game his numbers say he belongs on the list.
Honorable mention-
Kyle Korver- Went on some streaks last year where his shot looked unstoppable. Still young if he can find a niche he'll score some points. Can't create his own shot due to lack of athleticism and height
Cuttino Mobley- A scorer who may take too many shots for his talents, he'll be a weapon for Orlando. Has developed his game over time, now he hits shots from anywhere on the floor.
Chauncy Billups- Tough as nails, doesn't need a lot of room to get off a deadly 3. Top 5 clutch guy. Still has troubles at times hitting the 18 footer trailing the break or off the dribble, which keeps him off the top 10
Casey Jacobsen- Young kid came into his own last year and knocked down a lot of tough shots off the bench. Perfect release, if he can play some D, he has 10 years in this league ahead of him.
T-mac- Really is a great shooter, but primarily because teams fear his dribble drive so much they lay off. Most of his misses come off jumpers, lets see how he develops it now with a quality big to spread the floor.
So......anyone else? Did I leave off a guy on your team you really like? Want to argue that Pierce or A-I are great shooters? Any up-and-comers?
