We played really really well. We got screwed by the refs, plain and simple. It's evident with injuries and how poorly the games are officiated we can't win this year even if we play well. It's over. We hadn't lost at home for 13 straight games and we lost two straight this year. This is the same team last year that won 9 straight. Sound fishy? Yeah, it's the refs. We couldn't win from the beginning of the game with 150 penalty yds. We had no shot. We were fighting the refs and we can't even beat them in our own stadium. Regardless of how well we play, we aren't going to be able to win. Terrible calls at the end of the game doomed us. The stats of the game aren't even close, but the refs let them hang around. That was a crucial call and a 10 yd. loss when Green was supposedly " Sacked". That terrible call cost us the game. That and the 15 other penalty calls. We got beat by the refs. This is a sign for the rest of the year. We shut down their run and it didn't matter. They got lucky on bombs all day long and then when we did something good we get called for Unsportsmanlike conduct that OVER RIDES their call. Since when do these penalties not offset? We're doomed. No matter what we do the outcome is out of our control. They played an awesome game but couldn't overcome the refs. It's sad and infuriating. The season is over, no matter what we do.
Its not exactly the same team, we are extremely thin at receiver, but other than that yes this is basically the same team, the only person we've lost besides receivers was Tait on the line, but this is just a bad year all around. They just can't find ways to win apparently.

I told the Denver fans on the ESPN board to stop complaining about the refs and now I will tell you. The refs dont lose games, the players do. We committed some totally ridiculous penalties in the first half, Green threw that INT in the end zone, and any number of other things. We should of rolled over this team and we didn't. There were a couple of calls that I thought were bad such as the in the grasp call with the Green sack but that's not where the game was lost. This team is horrible. Face it and stop trying to find people to blame for it.

I agree that there were some REALLY questionable calls in the first defensive series, the roughing the quarterback call on the intentional grounding, and the "sack" when Trent was pumping the ball as if to throw when the play was called dead.
Anyone who watched the game knows what I'm talking about. If you didn't, and you're pessimistic about some peoples complaints about the refs, I'd ask you to promptly go find a game tape and check it out.
With all that said... the Chiefs lost this game. Not the refs, the Chiefs. They're 0-3 and it's all their fault.

Okay, I'm better today. I was really fuming after the way we lost that game yesterday. After thinking more about the game, we could have done some things differently to win. But, with that said, I think there were some terrible calls and sadly enough it looks as though they affected the outcome of the game. I want the game to be won and lost without penalties. I thought with 2 minutes left, that call was terrible and I knew it would affect us negatively. The refs didn't let them really 'play' at all yesterday. It was marred by penalties and it shouldn't be that way. I really hope KC can turn it around, and I also hope that we stay close to the leader of the division.

This Chief team is a proud unit. They wont go down without a fight. I think there is still an excellent chance they might win out and secure home field. Like my friends said on the ESPN board, give Gunther a little time to kick in. Patience is the key. I havent given up yet. I hope you dont either.

Baby will blow it eventually. He cant last long without making a stupid comment in an attempt to rile someone up. As far as our penalties go, there were some bad calls but there are in almost every game. Some games those calls occur at bad times and it hurts even more. That's just a part of the game though. refs are human and I refuse to blame them for any loss that the Chiefs have. The refs aren't specifically going against a team ever. That's my opinion. The Bronco fans say that the refs are after them but they do some questionable things with blocking and the refs have been told about that so they do look for it. They dont make calls against the Broncos simply to hurt the broncos. They are legit calls or at least legit attempts at calls. Of course mistakes are made. I think that the Dante runback was a blatant clip that was missed. That's how I saw it. It happens though. It happens in maybe about half the games at a minimum. You have to play through it. This applies in baseball as well and I feel the same way in that sport. Sure we got nailed with a bad call on Sunday but we have also been involved in some really stupid penalties this year. It's not like they are to blame for the majority of them and it isn't like we couldn't have won that game regardless of bad calls. In my opinion, if we were playing like we should, we should have had the second string in there when that penalty was called on Green. I've had my say and now get off my soapbox.
