QB- Favre looked like he picked up where he left off, looked pretty good to me, arm still looks great, Couch is terrible, plain and simple, Pederson better 2nd string this year unless Couch gets his head out of his ass.

RB-We are going to have the best trio of RBs for one more season so we better use them wisely.

WR- decent depth, we need a 4th and it wont be chatman.

Defense- dont know what to say, the showed flashes of being good but once again im going to harp on the same thing i did last year and its lack of fundamentals when it comes to tackling. Are these guy afraid to hit anymore? Goddamit, drop your shoulder and wrap them up!

K- Longwell needs a bionic leg. I cant remember the last time he hit the endzone on a KO. I thought Sanders did pretty well though, Good hang time and good distance.

On a whole not what i wanted to see. We need MM back badly. Thought Roman did a good job at S. Jue sucks.

Couch has had little time in the system. Give him at least the preseason to work out some of the kinks. No one in the 2nd or 3rd string offense looked that good. Can't blame him for the inadequacies of the whole team.

he looked like a babe in the woods out there, like this was his first time on a football field, pederson is 10 years older then him and looked way more fluid, couch isnt the answer, i was excited to see him play until he took the first snap

It's also an offense Pederson has been in the past decade or so, of course he's going to look more comfortable...you can't judge a player on one game, let alone a preseason game.

Favre looked just as good (if not better than) last year. Arm looks to be in good health. RBs didnt get too much, but we didnt wanna push to hard with flanny and wahle out. Driver and walker looked good, bubba made a catch. Im excited to see what we can do with our full trio of receivers. D obviously needs alot of work. Thumbs up: Roman, Jackson, Barnett, Lee Thumbs Down: Jue, Hunt, Carroll (give him time) I liked our scheme overall, the new emphasis on pressure will cause turnovers, regardless of what people are saying. Most importantly, no injuries came out of this game.

I don't think Slowik even scraped the surface of things to come on defense. No way he's going to give away much in preseason.

It will be interesting to read the coach's comments about Couch later tonight or tomorrow. If they blame his performance on a sore arm, he's finished. If they blame it on his lack of knowlegde of the offense, there may be hope. He didn't look like a guy with a sore arm. He looked like a guy that had played behind a porous line in Cleveland for the last few years.

The defense will get ripped on plenty, but they had it about as bad as it could get: They started almost every drive at midfield due to Couch stinking it up and Sander short kicking it. That said it looked like they were solid up the middle thanks to Peterson and Lee, pleasant suprises. Jackson and Hunt looked decent. The D was really soft on the edges and cutbacks killed them. Give them credit for only allowing 21 points.

And the blitzing I saw didnt help either. One of the first drives they blitzed the LBs and dropped back Hunt in coverage to allow a conversion on 3&8.

Your first team looked pretty good. Some holes on D but its preaseason so i wouldnt be too concerned about that. Couch looked really bad. Like he was lost or not even trying. Only means Todd should still be the #2 in GB that never sees the field unless a blow-out occurs. I must admit i expected much more from your punter. For a third round pick he better turn it around because there was still alot of talent on the board when he went in the draft. I assume it was first game gitters.
All in all it was nothing to write home about and it was nothing to worry about. Its preaseason and the only good it does is help the coaches find hidden jems within their team. Hope you stayed injury free.
Packers and Vikings are the class of the division and i look forward to the up and coming division race.
Enjoy the season Packer fans.

honestly i couldn't give a rat's butt what the packers did tonight.
everybody got to hit someone for the first time this season for real and begin to kick off the rust.

no one got hurt. everyone got a little work. the score is meaningless.
i'd trade 4 preseason wins now, for 1 great 4th quarter at the end of december, or january.

Couch - looked horrible. I wouldn't have minded so much if he couldn't find the open WR, but even when he found an open WR and threw the ball, his release was slow and the ball was off target.

Carroll - not bad in man on man coverage. It's too bad he grabbed that guy for the Pass inteference call.

Roman - He looked good. Played with confidence and fire. He might make me eat my words about Anderson starting and having a breakout season.

Lee - The backup Olinemen he went up against seemed overmatched. I'd like to see how he performs against starters.

Sander - Average at best. He needs to practice on Lambeau field everyday until the season starts. Hell... all season long, if that's what it takes. Otherwise, throw the Aussie in now.

D-scheme - They need to learn how to disguise/time their blitzes better. Diggs, Barnett would jump up to the line getting ready to blitz well before the ball was snapped. Plenty of time for the Oline to adjust and get them blocked.

I think not disguising it was intended, if you look back, they would show 3 people coming from the left, then those players would drop back and a huge blitz would come from the right. Yet sometimes the players that were showing blitz would blitz. If you dont know whats coming it can be a very hard scheme to deal with.

I DID miss that. That's good to know.

Slo's scheme could be a good one. Let's hope the DBs can handle it.

this is where having mckenzie would be huge.... because the major downfall to this scheme can be leaving corners out on an island with a receiver, and i'd feel much more comfortable with Mike out there on a receiver than ahmad carroll. Also, i believe slowik said we wont see hardly any of the things he has in his bag of tricks. He claims to have some real exotic blitzes and stuff no offensive coodinator has ever seen before. Im real excited to see what this all is, but i guess we'll have to wait until carolina on september 13th to see it all.

Me too, but I really don't think it's going to happen. I really think McKenzie means it when he says he won't play for the Packers again.

That reminds me, I forgot to add my take on Jue.

If he keeps up with the sloppy tackling, the only way I see him making this team is if there is an injury.

hahahaha i agree completely.... cant cover, cant tackle, i havnt seen any reason why we should even keep him. Theres plenty of practice squad guys that deserve that roster spot and could play just as well as jue. (God knows its hard to play worse). Regarding McKenzie.... i sure hope your wrong but as time goes on im thinking the same thing. However, this has happened in the past, with players like ty law, and look how that turned out. Im still holding out hope. IMO what will really tell whether hes serious or not is when those weekly paychecks arent streaming in. Thats usually when these tpye of holdouts return.

I hope I'm wrong too. We've definitely got a better D when he's on the field.
