First of notice how the title says "and", not VS.

I'm gonna post these questions here cause its hard on ESPN. Everyone makes it a competition.

I currently think Kobe is better and I would pick Kobe one-on-one but thats not the point of this

anyway

My first question, do you think if T-Mac played his whole career for the lakers(shaq and phil) we would have been successful and would he be the so called ”kobe” we know today, or better or worse?

Question 2, if Kobe played for the magic most of his career would he be the so called T-mac we know today, or better or worse?

please answer honestly and no hating...

I know this is a pretty pointless Q, I just find it interesting..

BTW there is no right or wrong answer, its all guess work and opinion and theres to many variables to work out.

In my opinion I think we would be successful if not more successful and Mac would be the so called “Kobe” if not better...

now I could be wrong, maybe mac wouldn’t have developed like he has to day without getting all the double/triple teams?

IF kobe played for the magic I think he would be the so called t-mac at best, I think the magic would have been worse last season if kobe played there his whole career, not having the benefit of getting open looks and having the back up he did with the lakers to build his confidence to make him the great clutch player he is now...

but I could be wrong here to, getting double/tripled like mac might have made him better than he is now and better than mac could ever be?

what do you guys think?

I like the concept, did not like the replies on the 'other board'. I guess they could not see through the 'vs.' mentality.

Of course we will never know!

Think about this: Substitute Ray Allen for T-Mac...

you're right we will never know...

I've always Like Ray, I like him ALOT, but I think he is soft, he is a better % shooter than both Kobe and Mac...
but under pressure his whole career(like mac) he might have gotten away from the soft side?? and became a force not to be messed with :)

BTW you're right about the VS. thing too ....people just got so defensive, it wasn't about picking one or the other just a fantasy question....

I think the whole concept has merit. And that is why I asked you to bring it here.

Alas, we do not have enough real fans here (yet) to spark a good debate.

Maybe once the season starts and real fans see the possibilities here, you could bring it up again.

By then, hopefully, we will have some real good discussions going on.

I ask for your help to get folks here.
