Mind you, SI predicted us to finish 4th. I remember reading one writer for them though who picked us to finish #1.

1--http://i.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/logos/dodgers_65.gif (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/dodgers/)Los Angeles Dodgers (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/dodgers/)
A year ago, they came from behind to win 53 times -- 26 times in the ninth inning. Fluke? Tell it to the Giants, who watched them score four in the ninth against Armando Benitez on Tuesday for a 9-8 victory.
2--http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/logos/white_sox_65.gif (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/white.sox/)Chicago White Sox (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/white.sox/)
After beating the Indians 2-1 the other day, Freddy "Lights Out" Garcia is 10-0 with a 2.29 ERA in day games since the beginning of last season.
3--http://i.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/logos/blue_jays_65.gif (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/blue.jays/)Toronto Blue Jays (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/blue.jays/)
They cut former closer Billy Koch in spring training, so he sat in the stands and cheered against them in their Opening Day win at Tampa. That'll show 'em.
4--http://i.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/logos/braves_65.gif (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/braves/)Atlanta Braves (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/braves/)
In the It Doesn't Matter How You Start Department: The 13-time defending division champs have lost three straight Opening Day games by a combined scored of 26-4.
5--http://i.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/logos/astros_65.gif (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/astros/)Houston Astros (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/astros/)
Coming back from elbow surgery, Andy Pettitte looked sharp last week against the Cards. His velocity still needs work, though. After an 84 mph fastball, the word "Change" flashed on the scoreboard. Ouch.

Division opponents:

8--http://i.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/logos/twins_65.gif (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/twins/)Minnesota Twins (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/twins/)
When last we talked, some idiot was picking them to win the World Series. They didn't, of course, but Torii Hunter predicts they're better this year. "This could be the best team we've had," he said. Hmmm.
20--http://i.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/logos/tigers_65.gif (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/tigers/)Detroit Tigers (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/tigers/)
Dmitri Young said it was a "major league mistake" when they optioned outfielder Marcus Thames to the minors. And that was before Thames was recalled last week and hit a grand slam in their 11-1 rout of the Indians.
21--http://i.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/logos/royals_65.gif (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/royals/)Kansas City Royals (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/royals/)
They lost 104 games last season -- then slashed their payroll 24 percent to $36 million. DH Mike Sweeney makes $11 million of that, although he may well be making it somewhere else before the end of the season.
22--http://i.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/logos/indians_65.gif (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/indians/)Cleveland Indians (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/ml/teams/indians/)
The five-year, $15.5 million contract they gave catcher Victor Martinez brings back memories of the 10-year, $2.3 million deal Wayne Garland got in 1976, Of course, Garland's average annual salary was less than this year's major league minimum.
I think these rankings are a bit more accurate. Little more credit given to the Royals and other teams with a winning record.

This one makes more sense. Phillies not in second (not that i hate the phillies, just can't see how you can put an under .500 team in second).

He also has the skanks and blow sox in where they should be in the bottom half, and doesn't have his head so far up the perverbial ass of both of these teams like espn.

I actually agree. The Phils don't deserve to be second but they deserve to be top 15 at least, maybe top 10.

If you want to see some ugly rankings go to Fox Sports. They have the Sox 17th, Twins 8th, Indians 9th, and the comment for the White Sox is along the lines of, "4-2 against the 2 best teams in the division. blah blah blah," yet we are somehow 17th? Oh well.

That's comedy. I bet he put us back another 6 spots after seeing us at 6-2 vs. the two "best" teams in the division.

Take extra special note of the quotes in the previous post.

Huh? The two best teams in the division that you have ranked as high as 8th and 9th. Did a mental midget write this crap?!?
