i'll take it ... tho i was really not happy with that home plate ump.

FIVE sox called out on strikes that were verified OUT of the strike zone.

morgan thinks it's acceptable .........

i think morgan is an idiot.

Noticed that too. Kind of annoying to see the "K-zone" pop up and show us that it was clearly 3-5 inches off the plate.

Crede made a great save to rob the backup catcher on the roller hit down the line. Also, he definitely successfully blocked Hunter on his steal of 3rd. Even when the ump called him safe Crede's leg was lifting Torii's foot off the bag.

Terrible move in the 9th by pinch hitting Uribe. I would have left him in that matchup and had Willie/Pods pinchrun for AJ, especially with a backup catcher sitting on the bench just in case of a tie. If anyone should have been hit for, it should have been Ozuna. After his 2 good PA's he was not seeing anything well at all.

Final observation that I can think of right now.... Dye trapped that ball I think. Oh well, it didn't change the outcome of th game, but it really looked like a trap.

I think you are seeing what you want to.... He gave Buehlre plenty of breaks as well.... he called a consistantly loose strike zone to both teams... The ump had nothing to do with Johan going to town on the Sox hitters in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th....

But all in all, decent series for the twins, not happy they lost 2... but its very, very early...

no. i was seeing what the camera made clear to everyone. 5 sox hitters called out on bogus strikes. NO twins hitters called out on bogus strikes.

granted santana was very good tonight, but you shouldn't be able to screw that many hitters and still call it a fair contest.

Twins had at least 3 batter out on strikes...and quite a few ended up behind in counts 0-2 on bad strike calls... the Ump wasn't favoring either pitcher... He just called a wider strike zone than what the K-Zone decided is acceptable

We went to the reigning champs' house and took 2/3 with our 4/5 guys and our 1 guy pitching against the Cy Young last year and we took 2...Good job Sox...Joho took it to us last night-umps or no...but who hasn't he taken it to?

Remember 2/3 in a series on the year is 107 wins...Just keep winning series and things will fall into line...Our starting pitching 1-6 has enough depth (without serious injury bug) to prevent any type of major slumps...so we need to set the tone early....Looks to me like we're on our way...

My bottom line:

We went into the Minny house and took 2 of 3 from them, with the only loss being against the disgustingly good santana. Very good. And it didn't help the ump was calling strike three's for the best pitcher in the AL that were a good 3-4 inches outside the plate.

4 of their runs came after a stupid play by crede to hit the ball with his bare hand. Buehrle just didn't have it for some innings, he was having trouble finding the strike zone, but we still only lost by 3.

All in all, the game could've gone better last night, but i'll take 2 of 3 in minny any day of the week and twice on sunday.
